Weeding out MAGA morons one at a time
It happened again, only this time I was at a tire center getting my tires balanced and rotated along with an oil change.

While sitting in the waiting room which has windows facing the parking lot I see a super duty diesel powered pick up truck pull in. The driver gets out and has a camo field jacket on and a red MAGA hat - two color combinations that do not go well together, but it could be the official uniform for MAGAdom. Of course he has a goatee and is about 80 pounds overweight.

I'm the only one in the waiting room, so I had MSNBC on the television. There was a female anchor and she was talking about all the good that the Biden administration accomplished and how he was handing off a finely tuned Lambo to day glow. That's when MAGA man walked in and sat down. It took about ten seconds before he starting spouting off about MSNBC and Biden and asked if he could change the channel. I told him I'd just as soon turn it off and he agreed.

He proceeds to tell me how much he prefers FOX over MSNBC and that's when I kick it into gear. I tell him they both suck and a pox on both networks. He asked why I do not like FOX, so I unload with how both networks are agenda driven partisan hacks and that they; along with the major political parties, are tearing the country apart. At this point he looks totally off balance because he was ready for an argument with a (God forbid) LIBERAL.

I then proceed to tell him how George Washington had disdain for political parties and how he felt they would divide America and how old George has been proven to be correct.

That's when I proceed to paint a Rockwellian image of an America where people had no idea what religion or political party their neighbors belonged to, but they knew each other's names.

I finished with how we had three major networks who all delivered the news without including their opinions and that if there was commentary it was five minutes at the end of the newscast and how both sides of every issue would get equal time.

At this point this man got a call on his cell and went to his truck to take it. It was then that I saw him take off his MAGA hat and put on a Yankee hat. When he came back in I asked him what happened to his Make America Great Again hat, he sheepishly told me he no longer wanted to wear it. I told him that even though I was a Red Sox fan I preferred the Yankee hat.

The tech then came in and told me my car was ready. That's when MAGA man told me to have a nice day and that he was glad to have talked with me. He said he was tired of living politics 24/7 and that he was going to disengage from it all.

Weeding out MAGA morons one at a time is such fun!

2 points for the use of "sheepishly", but other than that there is too much missing.  Didn't start with SO, no adoring audience, no cops jumping out of oil barrels ...

I've even forgotten how to grade these.

I keep waiting to run into one of those people. I live in Western PA where one would think I could find one. So glad you ran into one in New England.

Often my travels take me further south in Western PA. Still can’t find anyone like that.

You got lucky, the stereotypical trump fan. Big truck, red hat, camo and Fox News. That’s the entire package right there.

But kudos for talking to him and probably changing his mind.

 

back to augy, this isn't his first (or best, IMO) bouncy:

Just last week my wife and I were shopping in Walmart and when we came out to the parking lot there was a man sitting in the handicap space in an SUV looking at his cell phone I noticed that he did not have a handicap license plate, but I kept my mouth shut.

Normally I would put our cart away, but this morning I was suffering a stenosis flare up and a a sore knee, so I put the cart up on the curb behind this clown's vehicle. I started to go back to my car when this guy says, "Sure leave that cart there for someone like me to deal with". Keep in mind he was sitting in the passenger seat on his cell phone while someone was doing the legwork in the store. I decided I would just ignore him, but he then says in anger, "You should put that cart away!". I then told him I normally would, but I had a bad back and knee and could not walk well. He then says' "**** You!" I smiled at him and told him to have a nice day. This totally set him off and he went into a tirade. I ignored him and drove off while he was carrying on like a lunatic. As we were driving away we noticed he had a tRump 2024 sticker on his car and a **** Biden sticker as well. We looked at each other and simultaneously said "It figures".

In my opinion, the angrybottom DUmmie (or whatever its name is) did a pretty good job of fabricating a modern day Bouncy. It should have included the regulation "So" at the start, but other than that, I was entertained and laughed throughout the fairy tale. Thanks angrybottom (or whatever your DU name is).

Maybe a Subaru?   They are pretty fussy on tires (and a staple in for northern winters).
 
 I believe it should rate one  for conversion.  No "so", no "cheering crowd", no "bushes", and no "policeman".   Seems like there is a style guide for proper  tales around here somewhere.

While waiting at the deli counter last week a man engaged me in conversation about the high price of groceries. Then he starts in about how tRump will fix it. That's when I kicked into high gear by telling him that tRump had just stated a few days prior that bringing down the price of groceries would be very hard and how day glow basically said there wasn't much he could do about it.

Then I kick it up another notch by using my ant-MAGA strategy. I tell these knuckle draggers that I do not believe in tRump and that both parties deserve our disdain. I tell them that George Washington was against political parties and that both parties suck. I tell them that I wish a pox on both their houses and that I hate all politicians and politics in general. I finish up with the only people who can save us are ourselves.

These people are anti-government anyway, so it is quite easy to get them thinking that all people involved in the government are scum bags. Without creating confrontation I get them to question their fealty to anyone and that includes tRump and the Republican Party.

Then I finish with how the multi-national corporations own everyone and how the high prices are the result of big business gouging all of us.

I love seeing the confused look on their faces when I plant the seeds of doubt.

Maybe they are using AI to write them.  That would explain the reoccurring plotlines and borderline plagiarism.

     That doesn't prevent them from claiming it happened, anyway. Whereas when I go to the grocery it's nothing but people minding their business, getting in and getting out, every time a DUmmy goes anywhere it's a veritable town square of people loudly professing political beliefs and observations. What I find most hilarious is these "conversions" seem to be increasing in frequency when the horse is already out of the corral. I predict a massive increase in "Ah shore do weesh I ain't voted for that muhfugger" confrontations.

Yeah, I've never seen/heard political backing-and-forthing at my local Lucky, Safeway, or Target. As for me, my shopping strategy is "get in, get it, get out".

     Even when I decide to linger somewhere, I have never, ever in 50+ years ever heard anyone start rattling off about politics, and I sure as shit never did it myself.

     As a casual student of psychology, the DUmmy fantasies of converting people is nothing more than a wish to be seen and heard. Converting people is just a desire to be respected. Once in a while I feel sorry for the dumb bastards, but not often.
