I do hope that the media have the decency to keep the focus on Carter and not on Trump, but have no faith in them to do that.

I'll admit that it will be gross to see the felon there. I hope he opts to not attend. But although I can be as petty as any living human being, neither the Carters nor Bidens are that way. So I'll try to concentrate on them, and not allow the felon to distract.

And if Trump were to sincerely say that he is not going because he doesn't want to be a distraction at such a solemn occasion, he'd be attacked for that.

If President Trump wants to go to the state funeral events in the Capitol Rotunda or the National Catedral, there will be no stopping him--not the democrat party or even the Carter family themselves.
