Wearing Trump gear
One thing that really frustrates me about Trump voters is their constant display of loyalty through hats, shirts, and other merchandise, even long after the election. I can’t go anywhere without at least one idiot showing off his Trump worship. It is like they do it hoping to rile people up or get into an argument. I remember Republicans accusing Obama supporters of treating him like a god, but I don’t recall seeing people decked out in Obama gear or waving Obama flags—especially not after the election was over. They talk about the need to move on and unite, but how can we do that when they keep shoving Trump in our faces?

What about those Harris camouflage hats? That didn't bother you right? 🙄

It'd be nice if USAFRetired-Liberal would take its mask and its pink pu$$y hat and its BLM shirt and its "from the river to the sea" sign and just shut up.

Lets run this through an honesty translator.

What this primitive seems to object to, is signaling of support.

Because signalling support is something that primitives would never do, right?

In reality, this is just another 'I object to someone signalling support for a person or policy which I do not support'. Its sophistry, and not particularly sophisticated sophistry at that.
"Be not intimidated... nor suffer yourselves to be wheedled out of your liberties by any pretense of politeness, delicacy, or decency. These, as they are often used, are but three different names for hypocrisy, chicanery and cowardice." - John Adams

 1. IRL, people who voted for Trump are happy about the outcome and are showing it via their shirts or hats or bumperstickers.

 2. Let me refresh your memory:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qp-ot_vChlU

IRL, I still occasionally see Obama bumperstickers, still - 22 years later - more than Hillary, Biden, or Harris bumperstickers.

 3. The "In Your Face" is Trump-Haters' perception and assumption. As for, "... how can we do that ...," just move on and make your life good, kind of like Clinton, Obama, and Biden opponents did in 1992, 1996, 2008, 2012, and 2020.

In the coming year and more, I'll occasionally wear a plain red Head Sweats brand runner's cap to running events (I have a rotation of 5 or 6 runner's caps), whether as a walker or a volunteer. My lack-of-hairstyle makes wearing a cap necessary. It'll be interesting to see if any in the running community are "triggered" by a plain red cap. My expectation is that none will be.

I was thinking yesterday about the Trump hats, shirts, and celebration dances that are being seen more often, and I think it may be the left's fault.

The left demonized Trump and anyone who supported him to the point that some people who supported Trump were scared to actually show their support because the left is so evil, vicious and violent. When Trump won the election, these supporters realized that they weren't as alone as they originally thought (and as the left's propaganda wing media told them) and decided to let their feelings show to push back against the left. Who knows, if the left would have simply acted like human beings from the start, instead of doing the demonizing deal, many people might not feel the need to show their Trump support today.

The USAAF guy is doing OK when all he has to bitch about is some people wearing hats he doesn't like. Maybe he should look around this world and realize how good his life really is.

There's a truism "out there" that it's healthier to retire to "something" when one retires. Many DU-retirees retired to hatred, anger, bitterness, and envy, though I think those tend to be unhealthy "somethings".

I think leftist moonbats such as USAFRetired_Liberal should heed some advice from one on his own side:

Bill Maher to the Left: 'F**k Off, You F**ks'

Look, I know a lot of conservatives don’t like Bill Maher, but what he’s been saying about the Left is spot-on and damning. Sure, he calls conservatives mentally challenged, but he’s been saying that for years. Who cares? What has changed is his side of the aisle and the anti-free speech antics, coupled with an unhinged and exclusionary agenda that makes voters want to punch Democrats in the face.

Maher has been surprisingly less keen to attack figures like Ron DeSantis on the issues of COVID, whom he credited for having a better plan than Andrew Cuomo, and child abuse in the entertainment industry, admitting that DeSantis’ attacks on Disney employing sexual predators was correct and that Hollywood liberals should check themselves regarding their reactions to the latest documentary about how Nickelodeon was a hub of child sex abuse. These same people thought DeSantis’ attacks on Disney were unfounded.

During his podcast with guest Jay Leno, Maher reiterated his main gripe against the Left: the total cutting off of friends and family members over a single disagreement or political preference in an election. The HBO host used Sammy Davis, Jr. hugging Richard Nixon as an example.

“Cut your family off for Thanksgiving if they voted for the wrong guy. F**k off, you f**ks,” said Maher.

Maher is never going to support Trump or the Republicans, but take him out of the conversation; the principle remains the same: it’s lunacy to wall yourself off because some people, including family, aren’t crackpot leftists. It’s contributed to Democrats being losers in election cycles. You have to be challenged, offended, and maybe even humiliated to learn, retool, and perhaps even drop certain agenda items that are simply unpalatable. Biological males using women’s bathrooms and playing in their sports is probably not a good idea. Forcing prepubescent children to undergo genital mutilation surgery is perhaps not a good idea either. Coddling violent criminals who set people on fire in the New York City Subway, letting criminal illegal aliens stroll into the country, and permitting radical Islamic terrorists to take over college campuses are also bad ideas.

Eric Abbenante, who clipped the Maher rant, added, “Thanks [Bill] for reminding us that the Left has always had a stick up their ass.”

You guys should have seen the looks I got with this shirt.  :-)
