To be honest, although I don't have a problem with Hegseth, I wasn't sure that he was the best pick for the job. Now, considering who most of the outrage against him is coming from, I'm thinking I was wrong and am rooting for him.

I firmly believe that the biggest reason the dems lost the election was because they overplayed their hand (or overreached).

They went after Trump with too many lawsuits. They called him Hitler and a threat to democracy way too much. Especially considering he's already left office once. They told people that people were stupid for not realizing how great the economy is. They basically pissed people off and instead of turning Trump into a pariah, they turned him into a scappy underdog that was being ganged up on.

They also seem to forget they were fine with Fat Teddy Kennedy staying in office for years after his little swim in the river. And then there are all of those stories about how he was cheating on his wife.
