From the instant of Palin's designation on Friday, August 29, the American left went into a collective mass seizure from which it shows no sign of emerging. The left blogosphere and elite media have, for the moment, joined forces and become indistinguishable from each other, and from the supermarket tabloids, in their desire to find and use anything that will criminalize and/or humiliate Palin and her family. In sharp contrast to the yearlong restraint shown toward truthful reports about John Edwards's affair, bizarre rumors have been reported as news, and, according to McCain campaign director...

Though earlier versions of feminism tended to embrace children and elevate motherhood, the more adversarial feminism that gained a mass base in virtually every affluent democracy beginning in the 1970s preached that children and childbearing were the central instrumentality of men's subjugation of women. This more than anything else in the menu of the post-socialist left raised toward cultural consensus a vision in which the monogamous family was what prevented humanity from achieving a Rousseau-like "natural" state of freedom from all laws and all bonds of mutual obligation.

If this analysis is correct, the single most important narrative holding the left together in today's politics and culture is the one offered--often with little or no dissent--by adversarial feminism. The premise of this narrative is that for women to achieve dignity and self-fulfillment in modern society, they must distance themselves, not necessarily from men or marriage or childbearing, but from the kind of marriage in which a mother's temptation to be with and enjoy several children becomes a synonym for holding women back and cheating them out of professional success.

The simple fact of her being a pro-life married mother of five with a thriving political career was--before anything else about her was known--enough for the left and its outliers to target her for destruction. She could not be allowed to contradict symbolically one of the central narratives of the left. How galling it will be to Sarah Palin's many new enemies if she survives this assault and prevails. If she does, her success may be an important moment in the struggle to shape not just America's politics but its culture.

This fits in exactly with all the leftist articles screaming hatred, or at least bewildered fear, at Palin.

I was honestly at the end of my rope -- I honestly thought that Conservative Values were a thing of the past.  Personal Responsibility, Minimal Government ,Life over Death, all looked like they were going to be gone forever.  In its place, I saw rewarding sloth and line-hopping, encouraging bad decisions, socilaism undercutting our capitalistic system.  And that was AFTER McCain got the nod.

Then came Sarah.  She has expressed our shared values so well that I became optimistic. 

And lets not forget Jindal in the wings -- the message?  CONSERVATIVE VALUES ARE SHARED VALUES!!

I honestly have not felt this good since Reagan.  I backed up Bush I and II, but the mis-steps like the Rx subsidy, steel subsidies, farm subsidies, etc. told me that the Republican Party had left me.

I am re-energized.  Sarah is everything we need and want.  And a Palin/Jindal ticket in 2012 will be undefeatable!!

Why do they hate her?  Because she is everything they want to be and will never even come close to.

I just can't get over the thought that "children and childbearing were the central instrumentality of men's subjugation of women."  Talk about blaming the child for the sins of the father.  Or even NOT the sins, just for the "crime" of being conceived.  I just can't fathom how any woman can think this way...let alone the huge numbers we're seeing crawling out of the woodwork.  Sick, selfish, egotistical, empty Brats dolls...that's all they are.

There is nothing more wonderful, more meaningful, more lasting, more entrancing and enchanting than your child.  They've traded the very best for emptiness, money, fleeting power.  So sad...

Anger and hate directed at the messenger are typical reactions when people are confronted with the undeniable fact that they have been living a lie.  For instance, I expect Elizabeth Edwards was much more pissed off at the National Enquirer than she was at her Silky Pony.  This PMS (Palin Madness Syndrome, tip of hte hat to PJComix) is just the same thing on a macro scale.

It's simple.  She shakes their world view to it's very foundations.  They hate her for it.  Feminists have to twist themselves into pretzels to explain why the Sarah, Condi, and a whole host of Republican women are terrible for the country.

Nazifems are too simple minded to understand there are actually successful women out there who are pro-family and pro-life.  And we will be voting in November, for someone just like us....(ok, well, I don't moosehunt...but I have fired a rifle :innocent:)
