Remember that dinner with my MAGA family?
Yes, we went. No, even though we didn’t discuss politics, it didn’t go well. My brother in law seemed to be just itching to take offense and he did on a trivial matter. I’ve never seen him so exceedingly pissed.

But I wanted to share with the group here an observation. On one side of the restaurant booth sat my sister in law with her husband. Evangelical MAGA red. Being that she’s my sister in law there is no blood relationship.

On the other side of that booth with me sat my wife and my sister.

And here is the observation I made days after the fact: our side of the booth had family histories touched by the Holocaust….. and their side didn’t.

They don’t care about the similarities between America in 2024 and Germany in 1938 because they have no skin in the game. And just like every belt buckle worn by Nazi troops in WWII said, they have God with them.

We have broken off contact. I am forced to concede they believe they are truly the master race.

When Progs imagine they understand conservatives ...

In the real world, the Bogeyvangelical MAGAs simply reject 303squadron's premise that there there are "similarities between America in 2024 and Germany in 1938".

Also, someone a bit more aware of German military history should clue in 303squadron to the fact that the "Gott Mit Uns" belt buckles were used by the German military in World War 1, years before the Nazis became a thing.

BTW, does 303squadron actually have a forefather or relative who served in the Polish RAF 303 Squadron? Or does 303squadron somehow identify with that outfit, Rachel-Dolezal-style?

If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

"Gott mit uns" was a phrase used by Prussia since at least 1809...

:hi5: There are also probably at least a few DU-Denizens ignorant enough to believe that the Iron Cross was a Nazi symbol.
