It was not "one debate error". The debate was just the point beyond which no amount of ass-covering by media could conceal Biden's problems.

My wish is a little different. I wish Carter, Clinton, Obama, and Biden would all die on the same day. That way we could have just one giant State funeral and be done with them.

Rs and conservatives were calling out signs of Biden's mental decline in 2020, and the Dems and the MSM-shills ignored and denied it. I'll admit having been skeptical, as I am wary of my own inclination toward confirmation bias. Out of public view, Dem leaders had to have seen clear signs of the decline in 2021 and 2022, and by early-mid 2023 had to know that they should persuade/shove Biden aside and have a campaign and primary in which Dem candidates could gain public recognition. Trump's public recognition and popularity scared Dems into taking the high-risk gamble of running Biden again, in the hopes they could keep hidden his serious mental decline.

The Dems lost their high-risk all-in bet. By spring 2024, the MSM's bar for Biden to meet in public speeches was as low as not F'ing up beyond the Dems' and Dem-shill-MSM's ability to deny and cover up. Biden severely challenged that ability throughout the first half of 2024, but The Debate exploded the Dems' and MSM's denial-credibility. The MSM did not mistreat Biden after The Debate, Biden's performance forced the MSM to acknowledge the reality they had been denying for years. It only seems like mistreatment to DU-Denizens because they beer-bong-drank the Biden Is OK koolaid.
