How can anyone be thinking about Christmas?
I surely can't. I wake and all I can think of is breathe slow deep breaths till the reality of fear from my first thoughts consumes me.
I reach for my cat like a child in despair hoping to find comfort. Then the thoughts all flood me into a giant heartquake! This is happening and it will be worse than Covid much worse and I'm not sure what to do at this point.
Yesterday I never got dressed even.

I read through the thread, and all I can say is I feel sorry for all their cats.  They have to be sopping wet with tears and sick of being grabbed.  The only one with an ounce of sense is:

How can anyone be thinking about Christmas?

The 10s of millions of people who rejected your ideas and/or the results thereof view present reality differently than you. Live with it, like you should have learned in 2000, 2004, and 2016.

It’s being reported that there’s been a large number of suicides among cats and hundreds if not thousands are reported running away from home  :thatsright: :-)

You forgot 1992, where then President George H.W. Bush lost in that three-way race (thanks Ross Perot) to that hillbilly from Arkansas who could feel your pain.

Had the realization that this was the 10th Presidential election I've voted in. Was barely 18 in 1988. And the Republicans have won exactly half of those. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Unlike these wimps at Ivy League schools who are in their crying rooms with emotional support animals instead of attending class after the election, 99% of us just get up and go to work the next day.

Think this is a Dennis Miller line: Life is hard, wear a cup. (And I'd add, especially you males who transitioned to female)

In 1992 I didn't know enough of Bill Clinton to know how awful he would be. In 1996 I did. Had I known in 1992 what I knew in 1996, 1992 would have appalled me as well.

It looks like Christmas came before Thanksgiving this year for patriotic Americans.

Well, we'll be thinking of Thanksgiving before Christmas, but I suspect many/most DU-Denizens are trying to decide whether to cut off Trump-voter family/friends or how to make a scene to "punish" those family/friends. That's the DU tradition, with seasoning and sauce from the Trump victory.

Today is me and Mrs. DefiantSix's anniversary (only been 22 years; nothing to get worked up over). Tomorrow is the US Marine Corps birthday, the official start of the CHRISTMAS holiday season. Before you know it, Americans will be spending the day remembering what they're thankful for and the next morning killing one another to get to that last $1.99 toaster on the Black Friday shelf.

And with President Elect Trump headed back to the office, all is right with the world.

Ok who has a toaster for 1.99?  :-)

Most of these mouth breathers can make the season just right by showing mom and dad the tantrum videos they posted for the whole world to see on TikTok.

We know better than to hope that daddy might take their spoiled brat over their knee, because if they had been inclined in that direction, their kid wouldn't have turned out the way that they did, but maybe the tantrum video will be just the thing to push the parents far enough over the edge to pay for their cherub's transition surgery, and thus get those defective chromosomes out of the damned gene pool like Darwin intended.
