New HBO show

Has anybody started watching True Blood on HBO. I just watched the first episode this week and I must say I liked it!http://www.hbo.com/trueblood/ Only problem I'm gonna have is it will be competing with the new season of Dexter and the new season of Family Guy :thatsright:. The DVR is going to be working overtime this fall :-)

It's based on the premise that there are and always have been vampires, and for some unknown reason, the vampires have "come out of the coffins" and mixed in with mainstream society.  Something to do with the Japanese invention of "Tru Blood", a synthetic blood substitute that will sustain vampires so they don't have to suck your blood.

So, there are vampires running around in society, having sex with mortals and other cool stuff.

Background
-Vampires have always existed.

The first episode is available for rent at Blockbuster, for free under a promotion deal.  Was pretty different, in a good way  :cheersmate:  Shrugs, I won't see another episode though... till the season comes out on dvd  :thatsright:

It sounds like fun. I really enjoyed that other vampire show (on TBS? TNT?) about the guy who lived in L.A.  I don't remember the name, but it was a lot of fun.

Do they have sex like 723 times in the first episode?  I am getting really sick of really good shows thinking they have to show people copulating just to get some ratings.  If I wanted to watch people doing it I would rent some porn.

Great episode last night! It was interesting to get more background on Bill{finding out he is 175 years old etc.} I have to say their is alot of sex in this show I was almost positive Sookie's brother was gonna nail Sookies black girlfriend! :-) What'd you think BC?

I think that is coming.  And Sookie is gonna do Bill real soon too.

A vampire named "Bill".  That's funny right there.
I also think there is something weird about the hot brunette sookies brother is nailing{I think she has a vampire fetish too!,either that or she actually is one!} The next episode looks really good from the previews I saw.

I recorded an episode on my DVR and my husband and I watched it.  I wasn't impressed and my husband hated it.  He and I both really like Dexter though.
