About a month or so ago, I suggested that everyone needs a passport or
Real ID driver's license. As usual, many people said they didn't need either, and that it was unconstitutional to have to prove your citizenship.

And now, some states are attempting to suppress the vote by requiring proof of citizenship to vote. Again, that is unconstitutional, but when has that stopped people from trying to do such things?

So, once again, I suggest you get your passport and/or your Real ID. While you're at it, order up a certified copy of your birth certificate. Get a marriage certificate, too, if you are a woman and changed your surname after you got married.

Don't like it? I don't either, but I prepare for things. There may be many things I don't like in the near future, if things go wrong.

Protect yourself. Get those documents and store them safely.

Really! Just do it!

I don’t see how he thinks it’s unconstitutional to be a citizen and show proof. If all the illegals were voting republican I’m sure it would be a different story.

Don’t like it then leave. :bird:

mineralman, just look at Ralph's chart. Pretty much anybody that needs an ID has one already. You can't function in this society without ID's
However, it's OK if you want to continue special about yourself.

And since the Dems love to say that President Trump forced his ultra-MAGA Republican allies to vote down "the strongest bi-partisan immigration bill in history", here's an inconvenient truth for the left:

Bipartisan Support for Voter ID

Americans generally believe that voting is an effective way to bring about positive change in the country. But in recent years, there have been contentious debates in a number of states over the rules around voting and elections.

A new national survey finds deep partisan divisions over some voting policies, especially voting by mail. Yet other proposals draw widespread public support, including from majorities in both partisan coalitions:

Requiring paper ballot backups for electronic voting machines (82% favor this)
Requiring people to show government-issued photo identification to vote (81%)
Making early voting available for two weeks prior to Election Day (76%)
Making Election Day a national holiday (72%)
Allowing convicted felons to vote after serving their sentences (69%).

And? Thanks for playing and admitting you want non-citizens to vote.

Also, GFYS
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

Everyone knows that they don't want proof of citizenship simply because it makes shenanigans easier. I'd have more respect for them if they were just honest about it.

About 10 years ago (give or take), after having a professional license for more than a decade, we got notification that at the next renewal we had to prove our citizenship. Now that kind of irked me since we had to prove citizenship to obtain the license in the first place.

Then the last time I renewed my drivers license I had to prove my citizenship. I took my birth certificate, but even though it's the only BC that I've ever had, they said that it wasn't acceptable. I was, however, able to renew my DL using my passport which was funny since I was able to obtain the passport by using the very birth certificate that the DMV said wasn't usable.
