I was adamantly opposed to Biden dropping out

I was adamantly opposed to Biden dropping out
I foresaw us going the route of the UK's Tory Party which dumped Boris Johnson for Liz Truss and then dumped Liz Truss for Rishi Sunak and went down to a historic defeat. I foresaw at best a weak embrace of Kamala Harris and a campaign that hadn't covered itself in glory in the final months of the Biden candidacy running a candidate they neither knew nor chose. I foresaw at worst a bitter fight filled with recriminations and backstabbing turning the Democratic primary into the worst episode of Big Brother or Survivor in history. I foresaw elderly voters thinking of our party the same way as the family members who took away their or their friend's car keys and now never come around to help them out. I was wrong. Win or lose, and it is looking more and more like we will be winning, this has been the opposite of the disaster I thought it would be. VP Harris, with the same staff that President Biden was using, is running a brilliant campaign. Even policy positions that I don't love (the no tax on tipping) I recognize as being politically wise.

I still do not love that we refused to run the most successful President of my lifetime for shallow reasons but I now admit we had to do this. I felt we were in trouble more because of the press convincing the country a good economy was actually bad and feeding a collective amnesia about just how bad Trump was. But we were in trouble at least as much because President Biden was perceived as unable to do the job due to a combination of toxic ageism and a shallow, despicable press that treated Trump as a virile truth teller and President Biden as an elderly, dottering fool who somehow escaped from a combination old age home and hospice.

I underestimated, by a quite large amount, Kamala Harris. In my defense, my only real experience with her was the 2020 campaign, but facts are facts. Go figure, a person who ran and won statewide in our largest state is a good politician. This convention has gone fantastically and the trend of the polls is looking good. It is quite possible that we will win every state that Biden did plus North Carolina and it is looking very good for us to win all the Hillary states, the blue wall and Arizona at a minimum which would be a solid win.

The fact is I was wrong. A race that we were going to have to fight and scrape and eke out a win at best, we are looking now at a race where we have a coin flip from a large EC victory. I never saw this coming.

That is some word salad.

TL;DR I have succumbed to the hive mind and accepted reality as ordered.

Especially the "most successful President of my lifetime"   :puke:
Romans 6:17-18 But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.

Prior to the convention, Harris was scarcely running a campaign at all, much less a brilliant one.

It’s almost like earl g sent out a memo to all the members there telling them what to post to turn the non believers into believers. :thatsright: :mental:

The ones that post this crap must be rich enough to not feel the effects of inflation, or just stupid or brainwashed to believe life is good.
Life is tough and it’s even tougher when you’re stupid

A people... who are possessed of the spirit of commerce, who see and who will pursue their advantages may achieve almost anything.

I recently saw an ad on Facebook from an outfit that claimed to be a "church" (or religion), and for a "donation" to them they would send you "sacramental" mushrooms to partake of in order to get f'ed up. I meant to say "become one with your universe" or something like that. Anyway, it appears as if a lot of DUmmies may be members of that "church".

For new members and lurkers: I am a fictional spirit-guide with no smell whatsoever. I am part irish setter and part pigeon. If you don't smell any strange smells it means I'm probably standing next to you. As I am a fictional character anything I post should possibly be considered fictional.

:rotf: Darn! I tried to keep that on the down-low to keep people from asking for free sessions.
