PCintern is at it again, more stupidity

Now he’s showing a rank that he didn’t make, he never finished the requirements and he bailed out before being deployed. Yes he’s got a lot of decorations but most of them are what we called in the navy gedunk medals. You get them for serving.

The meme PCintern posted omitted Walz's Stolen Valor Medal.

During WW2, my FIL served in stateside training bases, an uncle served in North Africa and Italy as a mechanic, and another uncle was a B-24 gunner in the PTO. They all served, and their service was necessary. Unlike Walz, they never claimed to have done or been what they didn't or were where they were not.
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

It doesn’t really matter what you did or where you served, as long as you gave it your best shot and went were you were sent for better or for worse. This guy served until he was faced with going to war which is what the military is all about. He chickened out and then claims he’s something he’s not.

Let me see if I'm understanding this correctly, the DUmmie blowhard braggart claims that Weirdo Walz was a Command Sergeant Major even though WW didn't complete the requirements. Believe it or not, before I went to the fictional spirit-guide academy I went to a traditional university seeking a traditional PhD, but I dropped out to follow another path. Since I didn't finish the PhD requirements, I've never called myself a PhD. I guess, according to the weirdo and the blowhard braggart I can be, now and always, Flippy-Doo, PhD, but you guys here at the Cave don't have to call me doctor.

For new members and lurkers: I am a fictional spirit-guide with no smell whatsoever. I am part irish setter and part pigeon. If you don't smell any strange smells it means I'm probably standing next to you. As I am a fictional character anything I post should possibly be considered fictional.

When I have a really big problem regarding time served/rank is if you were an E-4 who put in only 4 years and you're trashing an E9 who served 24. And all I have to say to that is:

Sit down.

Shut up.

4 years active duty compared to 24 years of 2 days per month, 2 weeks per year. Do the math, DUmmie. This mfer retired as a MSG without a single day in combat.
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

OK, Dr. Flippydoo.

Notice that the meme gives something akin to Vance's MOS, while instead giving Walz's provisional rank. Perhaps Walz MOS doesn't help denigrate Vance's service?

Denigrating real service - e.g. of GWB's TANG service or Dems' CT-claim that GHWB ditched a perfectly good TBM - reveals the dishonesty and desperation of the denigrator. Did DUmmies, in 2008, latch onto the ludicrous, physically impossible, CT-claim that McCain caused the USS Forrestal fire? Or did DUmmies miss that CT?

:rotf: I told you that y'all didn't have to do that.

As for the McCain thing, unless my memory is faulty, I think the DUmp did latch onto that one for awhile, but I'm getting older (not Biden old!) so I may be remembering wrong.

Back to Walz, I can remember back in the Bush is Toast days that the DUmmies were down on our military members. I suppose with them that it's like every other aspect of their lives: it's all about a person's politics and not his or her service (or character).

Oh, and I did notice this and found it odd...

I just don't know enough about that to mention it. As far as I'm concerned, if you signed up and served honorably, I don't really care what your rank or job was because you've served more than me by just having on the uniform. I guess that's why it irks me when someone lies about what they've done. In my mind, what you've done should be enough.

The bottom line is timid Tim chickened out when the time for him to do his duty came up. I guess that’s why he’s fixated on tampons because he’s a big *****

One of the first things that jumped out at me is they omitted the awards that Vance would have gotten just for deploying into a warzone.  This is supposedly Vance's DD-214:  https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/25030454-resp-docs-1pgred-24-3265.  In it you see what you would expect a Marine who did 4 years with an Iraq deployment would receive.  Vance has never claimed, to my knowledge, that his Marine career was anything other than what it was.  He never claimed that he was a super soldier.  He never claimed that he did anything heroic.  He did his duty and came home.  The fact that the Dems are trying so hard to distort his record is a big, flashing neon sign that they want to take the attention off of Walz's performance.

Good eye, and thanks for the link! Here are the various awards Vance received in his service that PCIntern's meme omitted:

> Iraq Campaign Medal
> Sea Service Deployment Ribbon
> Global War on Terrorism Service Medal
> National Defense Service Medal
> Letter of Appreciation (5th Awd)
> Meritorious Mast
> Certificate of Appreciation
> Rifle Expert Badge (2nd Awd)
> Pistol Expert Badge

IOW, despite the comparative (to Walz) brevity of his service, Vance had almost as many medals and awards as did Walz. Unsurprisingly, the meme PCIntern posted lied by very substantial omission, and PCIntern, equally unsurprisingly, lapped up the lie he wants to be true.

Doing a little interpretation-guessing (I was not in any armed service, so not speaking from experience):

Letter of Appreciation (5th Awd) probably means official recognition by a commanding officer for some particular act of service, 5 separate occasions/actions (in 4 years' service!).
Meritorious Mast probably means official recognition of some particular act of service by his unit commander(s).
Certificate of Appreciation means similar official recognition
Rifle Expert Badge (2nd Awd); Pistol Expert Badge Not having served and not being familiar with USMC norms, this could mean ordinary certification for use of those weapons, but that it was awarded twice for Rifle suggests more than the competence expected of every Marine.

I would be happy if someone who did serve, especially in the USMC, would give more accurate interpretations. And appreciative for that service, whether "trigger-puller" or logistics or ... .

Technically he was a CSM ... provisionally, at least. He wore the rank and served in the slot, but at retirement was demoted because he hadn't completed the requirements. Had he deployed, and then not finished he might have been able to retire as CSM, citing deployment hardships preventing him from completing schooling PTB signed off on that stuff fairly frequently back in the day.

It’s funny he doesn’t have rifle or pistol badges. I would have thought if you’re carrying a gun that you would want to be a crack shot.

I got about half as many of those same ribbons as Walz has in the graphic and I put in 23 years in the infantry in both the Active-duty Army and the National Guard. It's not about the awards. It's about what kind of a troop you are. I and a lot of my fellow soldiers at the time would rather have avoided getting awards because that was just another thing you had to deal with when It came to putting it on your ribbon rack and it can be a pain, especially if you have served in more than one branch of service of the active to reserve duty. What I am saying is that your ribbons have to be in a certain order on your dress uniform and they are ranked by precedence or in order of importance. There are as many ribbons that are just for being a good soldier as there are for outstanding achievements. You can get loaded up with the lower end ribbons easy enough if you want to just fill up your rack, but we didn't see it as being worth it.
