'No one is above the law': Biden calls for sweeping Supreme Court reforms

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden called for major changes to the Supreme Court on Monday, including a constitutional amendment that would limit immunity for presidents, impose term limits for justices and stipulate an enforceable code of ethics.

In an op-ed in the Washington Post, Biden said "no one is above the law."

“Not the president of the United States,” he wrote. “Not a justice on the Supreme Court of the United States. No one.”

Of note: Biden does not call for expanding the size of the Supreme Court ? a proposal that is popular among progressives as a way of counteracting the current conservative supermajority.

You know, the dems are all in an uproar about this immunity ruling. My opinion, and I may be wrong, is that this immunity has always existed as an unspoken common sense rule. The only reason an actual ruling had to be made is because the demons...I mean dems...decided to go overboard on the lawfare. I also think that their desire to do away with immunity hasn't been thought through because without immunity Bumbling Biden has 13 potential counts of some form of manslaughter in front of him.

I would love to see what would happen to Biden if this did in fact become law. I mean the amount of potential jail time he could face would be huge. Those idiots on the left keep saying how much of a crook Trump is and I would bet that Trump would still get out of jail long before Biden would. The other thing is I doubt that Congress is willing to take this up for any reason, most defiantly in the House.

Yeah, I agree. I told my wife that I didn't foresee this ever coming about. It's just something that Joe can bluster about and spin his wheels on to keep him out of the way of whoever is really making decisions for the dems.

Like joes going to get a constitutional amendment passed in what’s left of his term  :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

Joe doesn’t have to worry about spending a lot of time in jail, he’ll be dead soon, but not soon enough in my book. I know he will never be held responsible or have to pay for all the damage he’s done to this country and its people.
Hopefully there’s a special place in hell for him. :thatsright:

The rule is there because without it, democrats would be making all kinds of bogus charges against every Republican President who ever got elected... oh, wait...
Not to mention, the reason that these DUmpasses believe this crap is because they only listen to each other, and all they do is lie and make shit up. Thats why, for example, that Bathhouse Barry isn't in prison for drone-striking an American citizen in Yemen. But DUmmies are too damned stupid to learn how it actually works. what sucks is half of the American electorate are dumb as hell and will continue voting for these idiots. Seriously, how bad is it when Kamala Harris actually has a chance of winning?

Don't forget that Biden got "immunity" for the classified docs that he stole, mishandled and shared as a senator and VP.

Oh trust me, normal people remember #JoeTheUsurper's immunity for that. Regardless of what we remember though, the Dim'Rats - and their hapless DUmp'Rat lapdogs - have been "Immunity for me but not for thee" for far longer than #JoeThePedophile has been a muppet pretending to be pResident.

It took over 200 years to get the 27th Amendment passed as it was one of the original proposals which was suggested and discarded until it was ratified in 1992.

Quote
The amendment eventually became part of the United States Constitution, effective May 5, 1992, completing a record-setting ratification period of 202 years, 7 months, and 10 days, beating the previous record set by the Twenty-second Amendment of 3 years and 343 days.

So yeah Sharter Joe, you'll get this passed real soon. It will never happen in any of our lifetimes.

as a direct result of people like modern democrats, an honor system would collapse our country overnight.
they specifically had commies like the modern democrat in mind when they wrote the rules. we know what they would do if they could get by with it, and so did the founders.

Going to start a thread with this in the appropriate forum, but it's relevant here:

BIDEN’S COURT-WHACKING PLAN

https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2024/07/bidens-court-whacking-plan.php

Quote
... President Biden’s big stick-it-to the Court plan ... comprises three disparate elements:

1. No Immunity for Crimes a Former President Committed in Office: This would require a constitutional amendment to overrule Trump v. United States.

2. Term Limits for Supreme Court Justices: This would require a constitutional amendment to alter Article III, Section One of the Constitution, ...

3. Binding Code of Conduct for the Supreme Court: Here Biden “thinks” this can be effected by statute, ...

The issue wrt point #3 is whether Congress and the President can constitutionally dictate some "Code of Conduct" on the USSC, a "Code" that would necessarily be subject to future partisan-political manipulations.
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

The whole concept is coming from an angry old man whose brain is befuddled with dementia. He thinks saying something means something just like he claims if reelected he would make Roe versus wade the law of the land. He has done nothing good in the past 3 1/2 years he just needs to go away.

Slow Joe loves to make a lot of noise when he talks. No wonder he's in politics. IF he wasn't in government, he probably would be a game show host.
