 Do you know how much it costs to purcahse flight instructions? Or to live in the US for months without working? Or to take practice flights?

 I used to read a lot of stuff from the MHOP folks but I think Bill Maher said it best. "I know they didn't cause 9/11 because it worked!"

On the other hand, they were handed a document which read, "Bin Laden Determined to Attack the United States".

Will it happen again? No. We moved all our troops out of Saudi Arabia after 9/11.

We still have beses in Saudi. I was offered a position in Saudi...in May.

Either way, criminals are getting away with letting it happen and are accomplisses in the murders IMO.

That's right. A site who fully endorses Obama overwhelmingly feels that our own government did 9/11.

If by "official bushco story" you mean . . .
 They didn't have a clue, didn't think terrorism was a real threat, considered the "chatter" reported by their own intelligence services was no more than noise, thought that Clinton's warnings were just because he'd gotten burned at the WTC in the early 90s, were incapable of imagining people flying into buildings despite explicit warnings about such tactics, and couldn't figure out how to respond while the planes were still in the air . . . yes, I do believe.

34. No--and here's a great exercise to see if the official story passes the smell test
 Trying to tell the official story (albeit carefully phrased) to a 4YO, like I did this morning. This year was the first year I talked to my son about Sept. 11, because he's in kindergarten, and there was a school-wide notice for everyone to wear red, white, and blue today. (Not sure how I feel about that one...!)

"Do you know why your school wants everyone to wear red, white, and blue? Do you know what happened on this day seven years ago?" (I wasn't sure if his teacher had said anything.) "Okay. Seven years ago on this day, some bad guys stole some planes. They flew two of them into the tallest buildings in New York City, and the buildings fell down. They flew a third one into the building in Washington, DC, that's the military headquarters. And the fourth one crashed before it go to where it was going, so we don't know where that one was headed."

And then, darling son, we blamed it on a guy who hides in a cave but never bothered to catch him, and now he's probably dead, but the government trots out video and audio tapes and say it's him even though it doesn't look or sound like him on the tapes, started a war with the wrong country and killed thousands more innocent people in the wrong country than were killed in this country on Sept. 11 seven years ago. And if the pasty, sickly looking old guy gets elected, the war will still be going on when YOU'RE old enough to get drafted! (Over my dead body!)

No, I didn't tell him that last part. But I was thinking it! I did tell him an insane copycat dude with strings sticking out of his heels and a lighter in his hand is why we STILL have to take off our *******ed shoes at the airport, though. :grrr:

 It is impossible to believe a story with so many holes in it and so many "coincidences":

- the president sat in a classroom while they knew there were 4 hijacked planes in the air, and even after the first WTC tower was struck
- the secret service who never lifted a finger to protect George, but who spirited Cheney away instantly
- the attacks spanned 2 hours, during which time only one airplane was intercepted
- the most heavily defended building in the world, the Pentagon, was hit an hour after the 2nd WTC
- there were active "war games" that morning that exactly mimicked what actually happened

It is impossible to believe a story when there has been a coverup of the facts:

- the air traffic controllers who had a long conversation afterwards, the tape was then seized, cut into little pieces, and disposed of in separate trash cans for good measure
- the put options on American and United airlines, that were traced but whose source was never revealed
- the steel from the buildings that was sold and shipped overseas as quickly as possible
- the bin Ladens in the US were spirited out of the country after a cursory interview by the FBI

It is impossible to believe a story that masks the huge advantages gained by one group:

- Bush and Cheney used it as a green light to invade Afghanistan and, even worse, Iraq
- the owner of the WTC collected a huge insurance windfall, instead of having to remove asbestos from the buildings at great expense
- the authoritarians in government have removed civil liberties right and left with little opposition
- the Republics gained near-dictatorial powers for 6 years
- the arms merchants, the mercenary companies, the private military contracting companies and the oil companies have reaped record profits

These are just a few of the reasons that I do not for one minute believe the official story of what happened.

If that video of Bush at the elementary school had not inadvertently been left up on the school's site, showing for all the world to see his dereliction of duty that morning, who knows how much worse it would have been. As it is, at least we don't have to surmise that part. Of course, the fact that he skedaddled it out of there and went incommunicado for a day should have been a clue as to his inability to handle the grave duties of office. But somehow the Republics were allowed to twist it into a heroic story of him and his party. While in fact they used it to oppress us and to enrich themselves.

Why do they wish to believe so much physically impossible and insane tripe?
My guess is because it makes them feel that the evil they battle is so overwhelmingly powerfull that it makes their messianic feelings about themselves complete.

I pray and hope that if there is an Obama Administration and there is a major terrorist attack that there will not be a MIHOP or a LIHOP  simply because the DUmmies never comprehend that evil does exist in this world and that people do hate the United States of America. Of course, the DUmmies will state that the attack was Bush"s fault because of his imperialist attack on a sovereign nation, that Bush did nothing on terror, that the planning was done while Bush was President, etc. etc. etc.

The point is, the people that died on 9-11 were Americans, Democrats and Republicans, of all races, creeds, religions,national origins, and sexual preferences. We fight today for the survivial of the American ideals that each person has worth, has value, and that in the end we fight for each other.

I just don't have words. I cannot believe how insane and hateful they are. I haven't paid attention, but has there ever been a 9/11 survivor or family member posting on DU? I think I would come unglued if I read that crap.
