The AR-15's Power is Greater Than we Thought
« on: July 18, 2024, 03:11:35 AM »
The OP is just a repost of a twitter:

Van Jones: "A bullet couldn't stop Trump. A virus just stopped Biden"
CNN's Van Jones: "A bullet couldn't stop Trump. A virus just stopped Biden... The Democrats are coming apart. The Republicans are coming together."

But this response cracked me up:

2. " He allows himself to build on a never proved rumor that Trump's ear had been impacted by a bullet"

I don't know if this is accurate but We Haven't seen the Medical report YET.

Which includes this response in the twitter thread:

Quote
He’s a journalist in the powerhouse of (popular) journalism. He allows himself to build on a never proved rumor that Trump’s ear had been impacted by a bullett. The mechanics and physics of AR-15 are such that nothing but a significant wound would be possible should a bullett from an AR-15 rifle passed by a few inches far from any part of his body. BBC is the only fact-based global media remaining.

So, a Remington .223 fired out of an AR-15 has so much power it will not only vaporize a feral hog, it will also actually cause significant injuries even if you miss the target by several inches.  So don't worry about getting a clean shot if you're out shooting varmints with your AR.  Just get close and they'll keel right over.  I'm going to take mine duck hunting in the fall.  With decent bullet placement I might get four or five with a single shot.

Only if you are using special assault bullets fired from a 100 round special assault clip. :lmao: :lmao:

We need to wait for the investigation to complete but it is possible it was the lesser 5.56 vs. the engine block penetrator .223.  :-)

Old story I once told here in the infamous "Vaporized hog" thread, but it bears repeating:
A few years ago, in response to the rising social unrest of 2020, my parents each got a handgun and my brother got an AR- 15. All perfectly legal, and they responsibly use and keep those weapons.
One day, they took me to a shooting range with them. While I have never personally owned a firearm due to not feeling the need to do so (Though I have no problem with others doing so, as long as they do so legally, safely, and responsibly), I figured learning to use a gun is similar to learning to change a tire: A skill which I might never need to use, but which could in an emergency situation make a big difference.
Anyway, my brother was of course using his AR- 15, and we were firing at simple paper bullseye targets. At the end of the session, his target he was shooting at with the AR- 15 had quite a few bullet- holes (He's a pretty good shot), but was otherwise intact.
If an AR- 15 was the ultra- powerful, ultra- deadly Armageddon weapon that the DUmmies regularly portray it as being, capable of vaporizing hogs with one shot and causing serious injuries even if it misses by several inches, that flimsy paper target would have been completely obliterated.

The stupid lies that you see on the internet regarding guns and especially the AR-15 is quite amazing. I have seen a few on www.MSN.COm that made me wonder just where they dreamed up their so-called facts. The worst part is there are YouTube channels showing just what a 2.23/5.56mm round will do in Ballistic Gel and they compare those rounds to other rifle rounds as well. But hey why let facts stand in the way of getting into a panic over what the MSN tells you.

As the owner and operator of an AR15, liberal bullshit about them makes me laugh.

Liberal Bullshit: "It's an ASSAULT RIFLE!"
Truth: Any rifle you use to assault someone is an assault rifle. AR15s are just rifles.

Liberal Bullshit: "It shoots too many bullets!"
Truth: No more than many rifles, and even then, one at a time.

Liberal Bullshit: "It'll blow you plum to squash!"
Truth: Well, it's a RIFLE. It isn't meant to tickle if someone needs to use it.

Liberal Bullshit: "The bullets are far too powerful!"
Truth: They pack a punch, sure, but so does all rifle fire.

It reminds me of the time my buddy ridiculed me for getting a .380 instead of a 9mm for home protection. Too weak? OK, go stand about 20 feet away and let me put a couple of .380 pills in you. Should be no big deal, right?

Yeah, I doubt being hit by a 5.56 round is much worse than being hit by a .308, 30-06, or 30-30.

Speaking of liberals' bullshit, have the hoplophobes in Congress or some state legislature outlawed chainsaw bayonets yet?

All this shows just how people believe everything they see on the movie screens or hear from some muppet in the MSM who has not clue about guns. A .223 round is barely big enough to do the job the military wanted it to do. Now they are going with a bigger round.  I wouldn't want to get shot with one let alone any bullet. Never get your advice on guns from people who have never even been to a gun range and learned to shoot.

9mm's are well known to "blow your lungs out" according to Brandon.
