A couple of DU updates -- tweet/video indicators and x.com embedding
Hello all,

As mentioned prior to the fund drive, Elad has just enabled Twitter and YouTube indicators by default for all Star Members. (This feature was supposed to be turned on by default when DU4 launched, but it seems we overlooked it.)

The indicators appear on Latest, Greatest, Latest Videos, and in forums. They look like this:



If you see a blue box next to a thread title, it means the OP contains a tweet. If you see a red box, it means the OP contains a YouTube video.

If you want to turn the indicators off, you can, by going to your Account Settings (My DU > Account Settings) page. Scroll down to the section titled "Social media integration" and set "Show tweet indicator" and "Show video indicator" to "No."

In addition, Elad has fixed x.com embedding, so it should now work correctly without having to use the twitter.com workaround. Using twitter.com URLs will still work, but you can now directly paste tweets with the x.com URL and they should show up.

The DUmpasses are all wound up and triggered by Elon. Most of them screech and holler when someone posts twitter links. They think they are going to somehow hurt Twitter if they don't open DU posts that have a Twit link in it. They are misguided and hateful children, nothing more.

Well, were Earl a little more thoughtful he would have had a list of Reich-Wing sources drawn up and had the forum SW mark all threads containing one of those Reich-Wing source links with a swastika or "KKK".

Doesn't that pretty much include ALL media sources these days?  I see the DUmmies complaining about MSLSD and CNN these days.  It's like they have no safe haven unless it comes from some nobody at Daily Kos.
