Obama: ENOUGH!

Obama knocks press on 'made-up controversy'

Speaking at a high school in Norfolk, Obama took a few moments to address what he calls "the made-up controversy" of the day, Amie Parnes reports.

Obama said the McCain campaign moved to "seize an innocent remark and take it out of context because they knew it's catnip for the news media."

"See, it would be funny, but the news media decided that would be the lead story yesterday. This happens every election cycle. Every four years, this is what we do. This is what they want to spend two of the last 55 days talking about...Enough!" he said.

Obama called the attacks "lies, outrage and swift boat politics."

"These are serious times and they call for a serious debate...spare me all the phony outrage. Spare me all the phony talk about change," he said.

UPDATE: McCain spokesman Brian Rogers responds: “Barack Obama can’t campaign with schoolyard insults and then try to claim outrage at the tone of the campaign. His talk of new politics is as empty as his campaign trail promises, and

And then, he goes right in and uses another insult... :whatever:
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

he needs to stop commanding the masses, "ENOUGH!".  he's been doing it for weeks and weeks now, it makes him seem very unmessianic when we don't listen. :-)

He wants a mulligan.  He wants to go back to the day before he left for Europe/Middle East and start again.

If that doesn't work, he wants to order everyone to get back in the same frame of mind they were in the night of his Styrofoam Caesar speech.

Did I mention the Not-So-Magic-After-All Negro also wants to DEMAND Sarah Palin withdraw from the Republican ticket?

Possibly the fact he's watching his dream of becoming President rapidly slip away?

I wish I was a cartoonist -- I would love to see something showing mrs. clinton in front of a roped-off throne saying to hussein "get in line."

There is a story that during the english civil war Cromwell was investing a royal position and was in trouble becuase the position seemed impregnable.  He was getting his troops ready for a kamikazi attack when all of the sudden the royal forces charged into the most dangerous part of his line.  Cromwell  got down on his knees and made a loud prayer of thanksgiving along the lines of "Thank you lord, for your infinite grace of delivering your enemies into my hands."

It became one of the most complete battles of the war.

Those of you into prayer (I am not, pity in this case, I think it a good idea here) might repeat that tonight after you get into your Pajamas

Anyway, I am sure Sarah will be doing that prayer today.

i don't remember all the hysterics from john mccain when obama was hammering home on a daily basis the "john mccain wants the war in iraq to go on 100 years" lie, the "john mccain thinks that you aren't rich unless you make $5M a year" lie, or the "john mccain doesn't know how many houses he owns" lie.

someone needs to man up. :whatever:

Obama wants to get his snide childish jabs in on McCain/Palin, but when he's called on it, he acts like it was a misunderstanding.  That's BS, because too much time an effort is put into speech writing for them to EFF it up that way.

he doesn't know what hit him because he never saw it coming.  it's ironic that this agent of change is so unable to deal with anything unexpected.

I followed the primaries very closely (some around here may even say too closely  :-) ) and I thought on quite a few occasions that The BarackStar! had problems with being challenged by wimmins.

Every time he winds up on the losing side of an issue (his church, his personal accquaintances, his shady business deals, his creepy wife that doubled her salary as soon as he was elected Senator), his first reaction is to tell everyone to "move on".  :uhsure:

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

interesting point to be made here... Glenn Beck played an interview with Keith Olberman and Obama (dont know the date) and Olberman asks, "do you ever think of using more exclamation points in your speeches? do you ever consider using more anger?"

Glenn Beck started laughing then saying, "Hey... Barack? Dont use advice from that guy.. he is very unstable. He's a powder keg waiting to go off.." and I'm just going to assume, based on KOs own antics on air that this is true..

but I hope Obama DOES listen to KO and just blows his top out there somewhere  :-)
