Happy Hump Day!
« on: September 10, 2008, 11:25:10 AM »
I'm so proud of myself.  I managed to drag my butt into work at 7:40am.  I usually don't get here until 9am.  My co-workers were shocked, shocked that I actually did it.

Now that I'm in school I leave at 1pm on Wednesdays for class, but today I have to go in and take a pre-assessment test for algebra.  Thankfully it doesn't count, it's just a guide to see where all the students are at.  Oh and there's scheduled times for it, so I'm actually leaving work an hour early, at noon, to go there and take it.

After class I'm running a few errands, so I should be home by 4:30 today.   :-)

It's overcast today and supposedly it's supposed to rain more.

I'm doing laundry and waiting for my youngest daughters new furniture to arrive.  She wanted an "adult bed" and has been mad that she always gets her sister's hand me downs and never has had a room that was ever "done" especially for her.  When we switched the girls rooms, Sarah's room was still the white color it was when we built the house.  She moved into her sister's room and I didn't repaint because I liked the way it was painted (green with dark pink circles).  So about a month ago we went out and got her an adult bed and new furniture and I'm getting ready to repaint her room.

I also have an eye doctor appointment at 2:15, I have an eye infection.  My eye is kind of pulsating and my vision is blurry.  I am afraid it could be UVeitis again and the first time I had it I would say it was the worst thing I have ever gone through.  I ended up having to have a shot in my eye and it lasted for months.  It felt like my eye had an abscess.  It was the most painful thing I have ever gone through.

I'm getting ready to bake a lemon cake, and then I'll sit down and make a menu/grocery list for the next couple weeks.  My youngest has a football game this evening, against the team that went undefeated last year.  Hope he does well!

Other than that, nothing too exciting going on.

I found some new reading material.  I upgraded my monthly magazine from 'Penthouse' to 'Swank'.

Kidding.  I didn't realize Frank McCourt had published a third book, in 2005.  Loved the first book, enjoyed the second one but wasn't as thrilled by it.  I'm waiting on a couple books by Eugene Sledge who fought at Pelilu and Okinawa in WWII.

I was gonna do a celebratory hump, but I have to say, that news sucks so bad I can't even muster a lackluster hump.

I hope it is not the UVeitis again.

Been studying on and off most of the day, when I wasn't in class.  Rewarded myself with a rare treat for dinner : baby back ribs, mashed potatoes, green beans, and some key lime pie.  :-)

Just wrote my first book review for Amazon.com ( for a book that I bought from Amazon itself).  That was a little intimidating, writing a book review.  :o A friend/classmate told me, in jest, "just try to sound elitist like everyone else in the science books section."  :lmao:

I didn't do that, though.  Just kept it to the basics, recommending it to all science majors, especially those in the medical field. :)
