My mom and I are having our worst holiday yet. Asking for some holiday help from DU
I have been putting this off as long as I could. I despise asking for help, and I must do it again. As you may know, my 74 year old, widowed mom just has her Social Security which makes her very low income. She has anxiety and depression issues. I do not have a job but help take care of her. We are really all we have for each other. Our friend got more involved in real estate and doesn’t come around. The other friend is really just an acquaintance. My mom has a good lawyer and she cares about us, but she is still her lawyer instead of a friend. The social worker has been helpful but we have reached a bit of a wall with her also.

We have had some abnormally high expenses lately. Had to fix a wrongly installed by the house buyers thermostat and my mom and I could not buy and install. It was $350 to have professionally installed. This was necessary as it is cold season. We also had valuables (as in personal not money worth) in storage that had to be removed or they would be sold off. Had to pay the bill of almost $200 to the storage company plus another $200 to the movers. I still have to pay the movers another $400. Then there are some fees we must pay to the lawyer to keep us in our house until we find something.

As a result we have an unpaid phone bill and are having trouble paying for everyday expenses. The mobile phone is the only phone we have. If that goes off, we lose all contact. That would be very bad with just the 2 of us. No calling the lawyer, social worker, friends or anyone else. We are pretty much out of money. It is a desperate situation.

Some good news is I have found a new way to make money online. I played video games on my tablet and phone anyway, and I discovered I can make money playing games and reaching certain goals. I have made over $100 so far, but in this situation it hasn’t been close to keeping up with things. I will keep trying to bring more money in and always looking for ways. I can’t ask mom to at her age. Still arguing with the state over disability. I know the social worker thinks I should have it.

I hope to get the house sold in January and make some money from real buyers unlike those crooked house buyers we used. We are still involved in getting those house buyers out of the picture.

All mom and I are asking for is to have less stress for Christmas. If you can give, that would be the perfect present. On top of everything else, this is a 5 week Social Security for mom. A $300 goal will help get us through. I am using PayPal because I would need the money now and GoFundMe does not take PayPal as a method of receiving donations.

But at least he’s hard at work playing video games to try and make a living 

I thought they sold the house and now want it back?

He needs to get the chimney cleaned so Santa can come by with some relief and maybe a new game tablet so he can play games more easily and make more money.

Getting to the goal means a less stressed Christmas and we sure do need it. The stress is taking its toll on us. In a normal situation my earnings would help, but as said, I can’t keep up.

I read that thread this morning and deb was begging him to delete it since he’d reached his goal. Her told her it was always his intention to keep it posted until Christmas. 

I guess he forgot he’d posted up these several times that he was going to shut it down, but since the money kept coming in …
