Wow! The German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, was publicly humiliated by the Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba after she stated that there was no hope of Germany giving Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine. And why the reluctance to give the Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine? Because it is a highly deadly weapon that has a long range that could reach deep into Russia thus risking a big retaliatory attack. A retaliation that could include nuclear strikes thus risking World War III. However, the Ukraine Foreign Minister was having none of that and TOLD the German Foreign Minister that they WILL send those missiles to Ukraine.

The German Foreign Minister just stood there and sadly took the abuse with a definite Antony Blinken look on her face. However, imagine this arrogant Ukraine Foreign Minister saying something similar to President Donald Trump. No way that Trump would just stand there and take the abuse. In fact, President Trump, once he returns to the White House, will IMMEDIATELY work to END the bloody Ukraine War. Ukraine won't need those cruise missiles because that war would END within days of President Trump taking office.

1. Because of recent misrepresentation (in another discussion site) of comments by Zelensky I am asking, Do you have a transcript?

Quote
... Because (Taurus cruise missiles are) a highly deadly weapon that has a long range that could reach deep into Russia thus risking a big retaliatory attack. ...

2. I suggest leaving easily fact-checked false claims to DU-grade Progs. Here are the basic specs for the Taurus cruise missile and the Storm Shadow cruise missile. Ukraine has been using Storm Shadow missile for months.

Storm Shadow: Range, 340 miles; Speed, Mach .95; Warhead size and type, 990 lbss, Multistage BROACH penetration warhead

[bTaurus cruise missile[/b]: Range, 310 miles; Speed, Mach .95; Warhead size and type, 1060 lbs., multi-effect penetrator, target optimised

As can be seen Ukraine is already using cruise missiles of similar (slightly longer) range, of identical speed, and of similar explosive charge and penetrator weight. Whatever Germany's reason for not supplying Taurus cruise missiles, supplying the missiles would not be an escalation.

3. 310 miles is "long range that could reach deep into Russia"? Puhlease! Howzabout those Kalibr missiles the orcs fire into Ukraine? Depending on the variant used Kalibrs have ranges from 30 miles to 1500 miles, and 880 or 1100 lb. warheads. You see no problem with the orcs to be firing missiles with ranges far greater than the length of the country of Ukraine but do have a problem with Ukraine having missiles with a range of a mere 310 miles? Puhlease!

4. Related to item 1. above, how did Ukraine's Foreign Minister "bully" Germany's. Did Ukraine's Foreign Minister point out all the MiG's and Sukhois destroyed by Ukraine that Germany will never have to face? Did Ukraine's Foreign Minister point out the thousands of T-72s, T-80s, T-90s, and BMPs of various models destroyed by Ukraine that Germany will never have to face? The couple hundred thousand experienced and trained Russian soldiers Germany will never have to face? Well, I guess Germany's Foreign Minister might have been embarrassed, hearing those facts bluntly pointed out. "Incredibly Arrogant Ukraine Foreign Minister Bullies German Counterpart" actually happened.

5. Countries fighting against hordes on invaders in an existential war are dealing with a different reality than armchair-driving pundits.

I'm curious what this looks like, exactly. Assuming The Donald is able to get past the Dominion Vote Tabulators of Plenty in 2024 as you suggest, in January 2025 he inheirits a US military that has been absolutely gutted by the policies of the previous regime.

When he inevitably demands that Russia cease and desist in Ukraine and Vladimir Putin replies with "or else ...what?", what is his answer to Putin going to be? Is he going to pull a Swallows-well and threaten to use nukes right out of the gate, because promising to drop in the 82nd and/or 101st is going to get him laughed off the dias.

Just from a numbers perspective, all of the military services missed recruiting goals by about 50% in 2022, and are on a pace to at least match that in 2023. And with all the competent service members dropping packets and disappearing into the woodwork, what does that actually leave in the way of warm bodies.

Sanctions against trade with Russia have already been adequately proven worthless. Back in his era, Dubya claimed we were up against an Axis of Evil in the personas of Iraq, North Korea and Iran. Now, right under the nose of SpongeBrainShitPants, we have Brazil, Russia, Iran, China and South Africa - veritable poster children for corrupt dick taste-orial regimes, every last one of them - openly creating their own trade bloc with the stated goal of undermining and displacing the Dollar as the world's trading currency du jour. We will not have the economic leverage necessary to compel Russia to leave Ukraine alone, far less leave Ukraine entirely.

Now factor in the domestic side of the equation. Most of the population of the United States will be sitting at DefCon3 - at least - come November of next year. The conservative side will be watching for poll shinannigans similar to those which transpired in 2020 with an intensity which will rival the 1946 Battle of Athens, TN election. The socialists will be looking to do whatever they can to distract those poll watchers in order to hang on to tenuous grasp on political power. If they lose, there are reports that the "activists" (read: terrorist wing of the Dim'Rat Party) have been training with their own AR-15s for "direct action" for at least a year now. You know damned well that if the Dim'Rats and Deep State feel their grip on power slipping after the first week of November next year, the "activists" will be let off the leash. With all of that going on in The Donald's hip pocket, WHERE IN HELL is he going to come up with the attention to spare for Ukraine and Russia's distant little tiff, leaving aside the extreme resouce demands for the moment.

The scriptures tell us to "put not your trust in the arm of flesh". That includes the flesh of politicians, of any stripe.

Now that the toothpaste is out of the tube, a re-elected Trump's options are limited.  Putin waited for Biden to be in place for a reason, there's at least one report I've seen floating about of Trump make some very thinly veiled comments about Russian targets if Putin tried anything foolish.  (No I don't have the links off hand, and IIRC they were "unconfirmed" but given Trump's personality, I can absolutely see him making such comments, for better or for worse).  A year and a half in now, plus another year and a half IF Trump gets elected and sworn in, the response is not that simple, and I don't think Trump processes tactically enough to come up with a better response, nor do I know if he would have anyone trustworthy and strategically minded enough around him to find a better response.

Thanks, I really needed MORE reasons to worry about how this election is going to screw our whole world up.    :panic:  Fortunately, I firmly agree with your last two sentences there.  God always wins in the end.
Romans 6:17-18 But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.

If by some miracle Trump can beat the cheat and get elected he can turn off the money and arms to Ukraine and let nature take its course. I see this war as another Vietnam or afghan war that goes on for years with no good ending for us.we have to many problems at home to be worried about Ukraine.
