"Mother Nature," our weak attempt to assign human qualities to natural causes, is just not good thinking. Nature operates entirely on the principles of physics and chemistry. It has no consciousness, nor any sort of conscience. It just is the laws of Nature at work.

By assigning human characteristics to natural phenomenon, we lose sight of the fact that we humans, along with every other creature, are just accidents of Nature. We're here because this planet exists in this place. That is all. "Mother Nature" isn't watching over us, nor is any other sentient force.

Nobody sends the hurricane or the earthquake. Those things just happen as a matter of course. If we mess around and disturb the balance of physical forces where we live, the results have to do with our actions, not the whims of some mythical sentient entity.

We are reaping what we have sown, as we always do. If we alter things, there are natural reactions to that.

And there it is. Don't blame "Mother Nature." The blame is our own in the current situation.

"Mother Nature," like the Honey Badger, just don't care.

This mindset is why so many people are depressed and going nuts.  "everything is random, there's no point, no purpose, no guidance, no morality" results in "why not kill myself" "why not kill, rape, molest, steal from, hurt, harass, humiliate as many people as I can" "why not do anything and everything that pleasures me" "why not make as much money as I can, without worrying about who or what gets hurt, or what laws get broken" ect ect.  And it's nothing new.  A quick study of history shows people and civilizations who only see worldly things go downhill quickly.  Nietzsche died an crazy drug addict, Rome collapsed on a pile of mindless war, mindless profit and mindless sex, Epstein got murdered for his perversions and what he knew of others depravity, just to provide a few examples.
