We began canvassing for county legislature representatives and Town of Hempstead supervisor.

I know that town supervisor might sound like a minor office, but if Hempstead were a city, it would be the second largest city in NYS. It has a larger population than Seattle and the whole state of Vermont.

Call your local committee if you have some time to spare.

I'd instead (If I could tell in advance they were coming) get some water balloons ready, perhaps with the water treated with some kind of colorful dye that'll be hard to wash out.
