People Are Happy Tonight

I live in a 55+ community here in Palm Springs CA. Over 600 houses, a few years old, with a lot of LGBT neighbors. We have a good sized "friends" group here with monthly events for fellow LGBT neighbors and friends. I have straight neighbors flying pride flags in support. I feel safe here.

I've noticed today people are upbeat. I took the dog out tonight and met another couple (guy and his husband) at the dog park and they were cheerful. They mentioned the indictment, the Alabama SCOTUS ruling, and Pat Robertson. I commented having all this happen during Pride month was extra ironic.

Several of my neighbor dog owner friends who are Jewish were there too. As our dogs played we were all in a good mood. Almost celebratory. One lady said she had a bottle of champagne opened and walked over with a glass (and her dog).

I love living here. Financially it's tough and I worry a lot. But we will make it. After years in SC for work surrounded by racist pro-Trump rednecks I will never go back. My new home is what America is supposed to be. I wish everyone could experience it.

Wow you are a moron. You move from SC which is red hell in your mind for expensive California and you are so worried about money but its fine because everybody in Palm Springs is a progressive loser with Trump on the mind 24/7. What logic.

These are the people (and it is not just people on the left) who will cause the country to fall apart, or t least help significantly in its decline. They do not care whatsoever if the justice system is totally corrupted, as long as it hurts their political opponents.

As tough as it may seem, we go through life as individuals. We don't depend on a "group" for moral guidance. We apply logic to problems. We don't always agree. So, we debate. See? No "group" needed.

For example: You're no doubt pro-abortion. Fine. But I bet you've secretly wondered about the morality of an abortion at 9 months. But your "group" demands it so you're silent.

New Trump indictments!!! Your "group" rejoices.  You may quietly wonder why the last (3 year) investigation on Trump turned up nothing. Afterall your "group" demanded it. If you ever looked you would have seen the investigation was based on fabricated evidence. Yet the Biden family takes in millions in spite of real evidence. But your "group" is fine with it.

I wonder if you've suspected these latest indictments were engineered to silence political debate. Venezuela, Cuba, and others have perfected it. And your "group" tells you to support it all. So...you do.

You probably think your "group" will protect you too. Good luck with that.

Ok, im calling into question the validity of this entire story. Could it happen? Possibly? It is Palm Springs, so theres that. But a happy go lucky husband and man-wife couple, who just decides to bring up the indictment, the Alabama SCOTUS ruling, and Pat Robertson? Neighbors everywhere flying Pride Flags. Jewish Neighbors. Another Neighbor serving up Champaign.
