I'm sure there are Christians "out there" who believe that, but in the over 60 years I can remember of being around Evangelical and other theologically conservative Christians (a history-based fine distinction) I have never heard this expressed, directly or indirectly. I will guarantee there are Dems in the Evangelical church my family currently attends, being friends with at least some.

DU stereotype-fantasies, Evangelical churches are hyper-politicized, spending (almost) all sermon time on denouncing gays and yada, yada, yada. In real life, such "churches" are rare. The two nearest I know of, if they haven't closed their doors for lack of attendees and $$, are in Tempe and Fountain Hills, Arizona (i.e. something like 800 or 1000 miles from me). Evangelical pastors and teachers have more important things to teach and discuss.
