40. To paraphrase Adlai Stevenson
'All thinking people will vote for Obama. That's not enough, he needs a majority'.

The about half of the American people are apathetic idiots who are not able to comprehend anything more in depth then a 30 second sound-bite. They would rather have a President that they would be comfortable drinking a beer with then a President who is truly exceptional.
"When facism comes to America it will
"WHY WON"T THESE ****ING IDIOTS VOTE FOR US?" {du mode off} :-) They just don't get it! :rotf:

Again, look at how liberals look at "average Americans."

And they wonder why their blind arrogance (and self-echoing stupidity) isn't rewarded by votes.

I see them ripping it out of our hands, again, and I just want to cry.

I plan on seeing it.  Watching you asshats act out in 2004 was so entertaining - it's going to be even better this year.   :-)

There is even more going on here -- the personal attacks on Sarah Palin and her family are not only tainting the anointed one's ointment, it is starting to foul the waters in other local elections as right thinking people ask, GENERICALLY, "why would I vote for such hateful and petty people?" of the democratic party.

The more they dig, the deeper the hole gets.

The ONLY reason I see to be doing that is because, at heart, many of these voters are racist.

Well hot damn, you've figured it all out!  Yes, we're all racists.  It has nothing to do with our respect for McCain as a vet or Palin as a conservative and a mother.  It's just race.  My family has harbored irrational prejudices against wealthy liberal presidential canidates for years, and it doesn't look like the cycle will be broken anytime soon.

HA HA!!!
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Ah yes, the successful politician and populist president of the United States Adlai Stevenon....of course history remembers his term of office as...........a first standard deviation (didn't actually exist).

Comments like the one that bowens43 makes concerning the intelligence of the American people is precisely why the dems fail to win the oval office. For all the issues with Bill Clinton, he didn't seem to be looking down on the voters. He may have thought they were idiots but he didn't come across that way. The last three offerings from the libs have come across as elitists who know what is in everyones best interest. "Vote for me because I'm smarter than you" doesn't when elections.
In order for them to start winning elections they  would have to actually admit that Bush beat them fair and square and it was directly because of their condescending attitude. They still believe Bush stole the 2000 election and 90% of them think he stole the 2004 election. It is because of their own arrogance and condescension that they continue to lose! If Bubba was good at one thing it was that he was able to triangulate and take votes from the middle!

They are already setting the stage for a "2008" was stolen.  And I think we will see tendrils of a "Sarah stole 2012" preemption pretty soon.

HA HA!!!
:haha:

It's a smiley!
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.
