His x wife said said he was always violent . His grandson said he's just gotten worse.

Dementia could make someone more susceptible to rightwing media. I guess. But he's always been a racist dick.

In the real world - the part I see, at least - the "take" is, "Maybe he's a racist, maybe he's demented, maybe there's more to the story we don't know." With a willingness to put off forming opinions about motives until full info becomes available. That's my default position for just about any media-hyped shooting, and that's what I've seen on PJMedia, Instapundit, Hot Air blog, and Power Line blog, which I peruse several times a day.

Notice that I cited my news/opinion sources wrt "the rightwing take", while DU-member leftyladyfrommo did not.

So can I assume that the DUmp is silent about BLACK racist piece of shit Robert Louis Singletary, the suspect accused of shooting a WHITE 6-year-old neighbor and her parents in North Carolina after a basketball rolled into his yard, who was apprehended and is in custody in Hillsborough County, Florida, according to Gaston County, North Carolina, spokesperson Adam J. Gaub?

If they talk about him at all, it'll be to portray him as either "The REAL victim in this case," or a brave hero standing up to "White nationalists."

First of all, it does appear Yarl arrived at the address by mistake, and wasn't intent on committing any crime.

However...

...sounds like propensity evidence, and does not by itself mean that he is guilty of anything in this instance.
