Judges "tell" defendants to "shut the hell up" by issuing a gag order.

That may happen if TFG abuses (as he almost certainly will), but it has not happened yet and the judge said that he would have rejected such a request today if prosecutors had requested one.

I could be proven wrong - there are months of proceedings to come - but the judge might realize that, 1.) a broad gag order could be struck down as unconstitutional, and 2.) a gag order of just about any scope would be playing into Trump's hand, on multiple levels.
