Is there any truth to this Track Palin story?
   Advertisements [?]

Sarah Palin"s son Track Palin has joined the army to avoid going to prison.Track Palin is not going to Iraq because he is patriotic but because he was arrested, for vandalizing the brakes of a school bus,in order to avoid jail he enlisted himself in the army.Track Palin will be performing security duties for his brigade"s top officers in Iraq starting on September 11, 2008

This is from a post to Huffington Post

A few are advising that it is just another rumor but most can`t leave it alone.

2. Well, I've come across it in several places...
...but that doesn't make it true. It sure is believable, though.

I'm beginning to get a feel for what this family is like, and wow! It's pretty bad.

One person trying to get facts out.....ignored of course.

16. NO. Nobody tampered with the brakes
whether it was Track or some other kid.

6. Why was he sent to Michigan to attend high school?
Was he expelled for some behavior in Alaska? Did mommy ship her kid off to Michigan because she couldn't deal with it herself? The Palin family sure shows 'values.'

14. Why was Bristol moved mid-year to Anchorage West HS
Seems to be the family MO for avoiding public disgrace.

10. I also heard that his average was too low to get into UofAlaska
He needed a C average in order to play hockey for UA. He didn't have it.
Less than a C average? Not a very bright bulb.

12. This Just Goes to Show How Desperate The Army Is...
If this is true and I have heard it from other places as well, that this guy actually tampered with the brakes on a school bus...how pathetic the military recruitment must be after the * Administration destroyed our military. Maybe this isn't really true, one could only hope.

Trying again...

15. NOT TRUE.
Please see my post above. Air out of the tires, unplugged engine-block heaters. Big, big difference. Nobody would have gotten hurt from this vandalism.

Give it up,there is no home for facts or sanity at that place you have chosen for a home.

18. I've read it before...all things considered it's probably true. Will it matter to MSM? Probably no.

I'm not saying the OP's story is true but;
My first supervisor in the AF, 1983, had a similar story. He was in front of a judge for something, I can't remember what and judge said "Military or jail. What will it be"? He chose the AF and had a long career. Security Police by the way!

The military can straighten people out if they want to be straightened out.

Well, according to Drudge, the NYT is going to get into it about the baby.  :censored:

I think Drudge is trying to stir a pot or two.  The NYT is not THAT suicidal.

It maybe a part of a series the NYT is doing on handicapped children.  Maybe the NYT can work their smears in through that angle and not look like part of the Palin Panic, which has not been a winner for any media outlet so far.

Has anyone heard what grades Obama's kids receive?  How about the averages of Biden's kids?  Even McCain's kids?  Strangely enough, I couldn't find much info online, except about Biden's daughter's arrest.  How weird is that?  Good thing there is no bias in the media.   :sarcasm:

SP is governor of MY state. Much has been swept under the rug when it comes to her soldier son Track. Sarah hasn't been a hockey mom in quite sometime, as Track spent his senior year of high school in Michigan. This transfer took place after he and a number of friends vandalized the school bus fleet in Wasilla. That was the culmination of a night that also involved stealing liquor and getting stewed. After his return from exhile he was arrested for drugs. It's pretty common knowledge he avoided jail time by joining the Guards. So, his reasons for joining the army (as Sarah refers to it) were not exactly noble. It was the lesser of 2 evils.

There's also an interesting story as to why the snowmachine partnership between her husband and his best friend dissolved. SP is quite a gal.

I think the courts stopped doing that at least 10-15 years ago. My cousin had that  choice though right out of high school. He seemed to like drag racing his car a bit to much.

The military can straighten people out if they want to be straightened out.

I'll tell ya right now, it's NOT true.  Even in this day and age of "lowered standards" (liberal's phrase, not mine), we can and still do PRC's (police record checks), and did so even when I was recruiting 10 years ago.

If ANYONE came into ANY recruiter's office with a piece of paper or orders from a judge saying "military or jail", we'd tell them, "Have fun in jail."  Any such agreement is automatically disqualifying for all programs, all branches of service, period, regardless of charge.
