We Finally Got COVID. :panic:

After three years, five vaccinations, regular masking, and taking all precautions, COVID finally caught up with my wife and I about 10 days ago. We were both feeling a bit under the weather so we took one of the home COVID tests we had on hand. Positive.

So we called our clinic, got virtual appointments and prescriptions for Paxlovid, which we took for the 5 day course. Not many side effects, really. At 77, I felt worse than my wife, who is 10 years younger. The usual fatigue, coughing, a bit of fever, and all that. I laid down for a couple of days, but then returned, more or less, to normal activities, but with less energy. I'm still a little tired, but just got back from a grocery shopping trip, which was uneventful.

Now, about 12 days have passed, and I'm still a little tired, but that's about it.

I'm hearing similar stories from others who missed the pandemic's early days of catching COVID, getting really sick, and recovering very slowly. Both my wife and I tested negative a couple of days ago, and we're back in circulation - still wearing masks in public.

They said the vaccines and boosters would limit COVID's severity and that Paxlovid would help you if you caught it anyway. They were right. We survived with just a little lost time and fatigue. I guess things work out if you follow the advice of the medical experts, eh? Do what the nice people tell you, and you'll probably be OK. Don't listen to the crazy folks.

This is absolutely got to be the most laughable damn thing. Tell me, Rockhead, will all your precautions, how in the hell did you get the Kung-Flu??? How is that even remotely possible???

Im actually surprised that the Island Inhabitants are even allowed to admit they got Covid. I would love to know the actual number, who cant bring themselves to admit that all the precautions, including becoming hermits, was all for naught. Im willing to bet its a surprising percentage.

Have never had the Chinese flu, no death-clot shot, only masking to get in stores and banks, only took vitamin D and zinc. Oh and no blood clots, heart murmurs, or penile problems from the fake vax.

Rational thinker and pure blood for the win!

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Gee all those precautions and you still got the Wuhan. What a shock!

Your body has an immune system which should normally function if you weren't creating a life in a completely sterile environment. As Jukin posted above, I've never caught it and only got the first two doses and stopped.

Here's for you, Rock-Head:

Here's the part I can't figure out...
Who the @#% gives a single @#$% about him getting sick?
why do these rejects feel a need to announce it every time they get a damned shot or catch a cold?

So what, DUm'Rat? Welcome to the club.  :whatever:

I came down with The 'Rona in November of 2020, and I've got so many of the "aggravating conditions" that it should have landed me in the hospital, if the hype from the hand-wringers was even partially accurate. I was down in bed with it for a week, and spent another two working from home to make sure I didn't spread the cooties.

That's it; a bad cold was all it was, because a bad cold bug is all it is. Since then; I haven't been vaxxed, boosted or even worn a mask anywhere unless I was specifically asked by the proprietor of the establishment.

No. "They" said, and specifically Biden, the Democrats, and other leftists, that if you got the vaccine that you couldn't get it. There was no "It'll take the edge off". It was "You won't get it".

That's an awful lot of words to say "The Dim'Rats - and their lackeys in the NIH, of course - lied (again)".

You forgot the Scarf Queen (as Rush used to call her).

Three years ago approximately now the Wuhan outbreak was starting to percolate. Being a big sports fan, baseball's spring training was shut down gradually as were conference basketball tournaments. Ran a trivia gig as that was transpiring and basically wrote half the show about dystopia. It was an uncertain future which we can all recall, and had a feeling stuff was going to get really weird.

A few personal favorite questions, along with integrating pictures and matching of doomsday movies that I'm not going to mention (although I could):

Which cartoon character frequently said that he needed more TP for his bunghole? (Remember the lack of TP available in March 2020?)

"It's the End of the World as We Know It" (And I Feel Fine) was a hit for what popular musical group?

The Doors song "The End" was incorporated into what Francis Ford Coppola dramatic war film?
