Never grab hold of a skillet that just came out of a
425 degree oven. It's my right hand. Does any one know how long it takes to heal from second degree
burns?

2. Ouch! So sorry that happened.
First time I used a cast iron skillet on the stove I grabbed the handle not realizing it would get hot too.

I... its iron. Heats transfers.. You missed that day of Home Ec, didnt you?

32. If you remember to put them on, silicone handles work well
They are good up to 500F and work much better than using a towel or potholder
No. This is wrong. Listen up lurking rats. Gonna give you some real honest advice. So listen, and listen good.
Buy yourselves a set of high quality, thick, pot holders. The square ones. They fold easily enough that you can grab awkward shaped, screaming hot pans with a fair amount of ease, and you get a good grip.
Cloth pot holders, and cloth oven mitts are used daily in food businesses. Silicone ARE NOT. They are a hazard. You cant get a good grip, and they transfer heat to your hands way to fast.
Oh.. stop grabbing hot pans with your bare hands.
