No, I'm not making this up. I'm not a fan of Ms. Deen's, but I'm definitely TiVoing this one.

Sarah Palin makes me want to throw my television out the window and start setting shit on fire. Luckily for my neighbors, an email from the Food Network arrived just in time to calm me down. Just gaze at the picture above, breathe into a paper bag and think of hot lard. See? All better now.

On Paula Deen's Sept. 20th show (titled "Grease is the Word," of course), Deen will help Michelle Obama get down with the people by teaching her how to fry.

-snipped-

From the press release:

On Saturday September 20th at 7:00pm ET/PT, Michelle gives Paula a taste of her family life on the road to the White House and shares fun facts, including the first meal she made for Barack, what kinds of local foods the family seeks out on the road and that Barack makes a mean chili! And, with Paula showing her secrets for frying up some popular American comfort foods, this is one party viewers won’t want to miss!

And Barak makes a mean chili! You hear that red staters? What's more American than making a mean chili?

Paula Deen has featured Jimmy Carter and Rosie O'Donnell on her shows.  DUmmies should feel ecstatic.  :whatever:
"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened."

What's so American about making a hate-filled mean chili?  He can't make a nice decent chili?

I like Paula Deen.   If anyone has watched her show they would know how strong her family values are.   Her BIL is a priest and has been on her show also.   I would be very surprised if she was an actual Democrat, but care little either way if she was.

Much ado about nothing.

I don't mind her as a person at all. She just needs to lay off the frying and the butter or at least severely reduce both. Watching her show raises my cholesterol level .

I like Paula and I admire her for making herself a success. She is no angel but did admit her faults in her bio and on Larry King. I really don't care what her politics are. I do think this is a cheap political stunt to keep the show afloat though.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Bravo. My position on most 'celebrities' - I naturally don't care about their political leanings - In most cases my perceptions of them are neutral, since most celebs play roles that have nothing to do with how they are as people. I dont know the person, therefore I have no opinion. There are exceptions though. I Hate Steve Martin with the fire of a thousand suns. Its irrational, but that's the way it is.

But once they decide that I DO need to care about their political views, I usually will. In a negative way. And not just those on the left Either. Ted Nugent gets eye-rolls from me every time he goes an an NRA rant. "Shut Up And Sing" applies to you too Nuge... This opinion is only about the loudmouths -= those who make the move into politics get props from me for putting their money where their mouths are, and then I will like or dislike them based upon their message, just like any other politician.

It seems like they are still trying to recast shelley as June Cleaver-Huxtable.

Very cynical and very transparent.

Any woman that goes into a factory and lectures people making 20K a year about how "hard" it is to pay that much ALONE for her daughter's piano/dance/whatever lessons, probably hasn't seen the inside of a cookbook since the Barackstar! got her that nice fat payraise at the hospital for doing, well, nothing.

It says you didn't see his last five movies. He will burn forever for what he did to "The Pink Panther" alone.

I cant think of anything he has done that I liked. I wont watch to his stand up stuff from the 70s or his SNL stuff either. Pretty much every film since Trains Planes and Automobiles that he starred in I haven't seen, and honestly have no intention of doing so. I have no explanation why this is true, but It seems everything about his very existence pisses me off. I must have SMDS ;)

I'm a Paula Deen fan....and while I'm not into frying....I am into cooking with butter.

I don't know what her political viewpoint is. Wonder if she will also have Cindy McCain on?
