Police and medical personnel were called to the Texas home of Sen. Ted Cruz Tuesday night after reports of a 14-year-old girl at the property suffering from self-inflicted stab wounds to her arms.

The teen was taken to the hospital shortly after. It’s unclear who the girl was—though Cruz does have two daughters: Catherine, 11, and Caroline, 14.

If Ted Cruz were my dad, and I was a woman in Texas. He supports the notion that she is nothing but a sperm receptacle and brood mare. Kinda depressing.
This is a tragic, tragic situation. Having once been one myself, I understand how hard it is to be a 14-year old girl. I wouldn't have brought this over at all, except that Jamie Raskins' son's suicide kept popping into my mind. When that happened, I wasn't at all tempted to blame Raskin, or suggest that he withdraw from public life, or claim that Raskin himself needed help.

(To be fair, a bunch of the DUpipo are saying the right things.)

Prayers for the daughter, and her whole family.

Just rush to the hospital if the wounds are that bad.  Then discuss the hell out of the situation when the parents and kid gets home.  If you like girls, fine.  If you like boys, fine.  But like yourself first.

Keep the police out of it.  That's weak parenting.

I'm going to go way off the cliff speculating here, but likely the ambulance was called and due to the nature of what happened, there was a mandatory call from the dispatch operator to the police. if not, it would have most certainly happened at the hospital once the wounds were identified. it's a mandatory thing and there's no getting around it really.
I feel bad for them all. I've seen some of the best people have this sort of issue with a child, it spans all classes of people.

If 911 was called, the 911 dispatcher(s) is the one(s) who chose whether EMTs, police, or both would be dispatched.

FWIW, this article refers to the daughter's wounds as self-inflicted  "stab wounds" rather than self-inflicted  cutting. The accuracy of hasty early reporting being what it is ...

Hey, lurkers, an intellectual exercise.  Let's say the victim is Cruz' daughter.  What if it comes out that the reason for her attempt was due to the hate and venom leftist moonbats hurl at her father, like some of you are dropping in this thread? 

I know, rhetorical question because A) the lurkers won't engage and B) they will still deflect/project and not accept possible consequences of the actions of their ilk.

No they are being nice because she came out as part of the alphabet soup crowd, and since Cruz is ebil Bible thumper, he has to be treating her horribly because of that /s and she is a wonderful great inspiration for rebelling against him /s.
