Echos from the past. Echos from a highly civilized country that had gone mad. Echos of hatred, intolerance, ignorance, from people who thought they had been wronged. Echos of a strong leader who told them that they would be returned to their proper place in the scheme of things. Echoes of Germany, a sane, highly advanced country, that had been corrupted by a small minority and bought into their slogans, propaganda, -- and their road to destruction.

Hitler came to power in 1933 and killed himself in 1945. Thirteen, long, horrible, miserable ****ing years. And in those years, he had been responsible for almost one hundred million deaths world wide.

Here's the point of this post. Are we headed down the same road? Has the crazed Republican Party turned into a machine that will seize power here, and then try to spread their disease throughout the world? And this time around, there won't be any America to defeat fascism. We'll be the ones spreading it.

Anyone who cares about the evolution and societal advancement of human being on this planet must be aware of where we stand today. We're at a tipping point and the election, a couple of weeks from now, will determine which way we tip.

Will most voters learn from history? If not, we know where the other path leads.

In the 1930's the world was going through the Great Depression and the Nazi's used runaway inflation in Germany to win a majority of seats in the 1932 elections. Then in 1933 they passed the enabling act allowing them to Bypass the German parliament and pass whatever laws they wanted. Feel this is happening again here with the GOP using inflation to gain power.
