I have to wonder how much this phenomenon is related to the computer age, on-line gaming, texting, etc… When we were living in our teens and 20’s, you actually had to…gasp!!….talk to a girl and ask her to go out with you and all the fear of being rejected and all that. For several years now, kids text, they don’t talk face-to-face or even on the phone. It’s easier to just fantasize about going out with girls while staying home and playing war video games with your buddies. If you’re in that world, you see videos of couples and all these pretty girls and people having actual human interaction and you become angry because that world doesn’t include you. That people on Facebook present a false illusion that their life is all roses doesn’t even register and certainly doesn’t help. Your video games say violence is an acceptable avenue to express yourself, and so you do.
I’m not saying this is 100% accurate, but it does leave me wondering.
