How close are we to losing our democracy?

I feel like we may be closer now than the day of the insurrection, when there was an attempted overthrow of our government. They followed their strategy meticulously until Mike Pence decided to call in the National Guard to clear the place. Only then did Donald Trump come out of his HQs and tell the mob to go home in peace and how much he loved them.

Their last step, as soon as martial law was declared, was to bring the weapons across the river and to take over the House and Senate. No Democrat would have been permitted even close to the floor of the House or Senate.

In my opinion, we are still close to losing our democracy.

How close are we to losing our democracy?

After processing this through a DU-Speak Analyzer, kt's "question" actually means, "OMG! We might lose our majorities in the House and Senate!!! :runaway: ".

How close are we to losing our democracy?

I dunno; how close are you to getting off your free-loading asses and CREATING a democracy for you to lose?

It's incredible to me how they can ask the same questions to themselves day after day after day after day and it never grows old to them. You'd think one of them would eventually say "You know, we keep asking the same things every day for days and weeks and months on end. Maybe we need to change the subject." But no, that never happens.

A statement like that would get you a tombstone. They are DUmmies. They don't know any better.

They're like trained animals who only know how to do one thing and one thing only.
Liberals disgust me. (Now I don't have to remember to put it on each post).

Because only the left goes searching for that which is not there in a desperate attempt to be offended about something.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

Basically, DU feels "Our Democracy" is always in danger unless they manage to steal an election.

Definitely some whackos fanatical musings.

From what we have known about them, they all travel in the same circles and echo chambers. Should they run into anything that challenges what their narrative tells them is true, it's immediately dismissed.

This fantasy was likely read by the bluegrass primitive on some kook website, he took it as reality (which they often do), and then he writes it out at DU as if it is the undisputed truth. None of the other primitives question it, and so it become the baseline on which to build other crazy rantings and lies. Lather, rinse, repeat.

And on top of that, Brandon says nuclear Armageddon is nigh.

President Biden delivered a striking warning on Thursday night that recent threats from President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia could devolve into a nuclear conflict, telling supporters at a fund-raiser in New York City that the risk of atomic war had not been so high since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

“We have not faced the prospect of Armageddon since Kennedy and the Cuban Missile Crisis,” Mr. Biden told a crowd at the second of two fund-raisers he attended on Thursday evening.

Not to mention how global warming is going to bake or drown or starve us all.

If there's anyone left standing after the end of democracy, nuclear Armageddon, and out of control global warming, surely they will envy the dead.
