Democrats cannot do it for them. Democrats cannot force, intimidate, cajole, or persuade them to change their mind about anything. Why waste their breath?

Republicans will decide what kind of country they want. They can vote for lies and conspiracy theories or they can vote for truth and reality. What is the truth?

The truth is that they lost the last election. Joe Biden won. Trump lost. The truth is that they followed a "Big Lie" that was created solely to keep Trump in power.

In our system of government, when the courts speak, that is the final word. There is no appeal beyond the Supreme Court in our democracy. Republicans took their case to the courts 62 times and lost 61 of those cases. Their only win was that the Court gave them permission to stand closer to the election workers as they were counting votes. Hardly a win at all.

Republicans need to take a long, hard look in the mirror. Their words mean something. Their actions mean something. And their votes mean something. They should vote for their country, not for their big-mouth politicians. They have much more power than Democrats in the next election. They just have to know how to use it.

Between retirements and primaries - plus some gerrymandering in IL - R voters pretty much have cleaned their house of Hate-Trumpers. Not what kt meant, but house cleaning the Rs needed to do. Hopefully, R leaders know better than to take strategic and tactical advice from people who hate them and wish them dead.

Uh, I don't think it's republicans who are going to need to clean house. But knowing democrats, if they lose in November, the defeat will be met with nothing more than excuses, impotent rage, and pompous self-righteousness.
