yep. the "mom tone of voice". but I think we would be interested in hearing it.
It got a "yes ma'am" in response.
I didn't know I had it in me.
tell the story, for heaven's sake. it's a good one.
Sorry.
So, last weekend one aunt, uncle, cousin and fiance evacuated from Gustav. SE Texas was under a mandatory evacuation and they decided to come on up here.
On Monday, they wanted to go to Cabelas. I've never been there, probably will never go back (it's a huge hunting/fishing store). But since they wanted to go, I wanted to go. Well, the oldest two nephews decided they wanted to go, and I wanted to give my brother and SIL and the baby a break and said I could take them.
This is the first time I've ever drove my nephews anywhere and been all on my own, besides babysitting at their house.
So there we are in Cabelas. My nephews are 5 & 7 years old. The 5 year old started the fighting. AND I grab him on the shoulder and lean over, and say in the serious-whisper-mom voice "I know there's not a timeout chair here, but I WILL FIND ONE IF I HAVE TO." He replies "yes ma'am."
That's the moment that I knew if I have kids I'll be a great mom.
