Did Palin ever actually win a Beauty Contest?
Advertisements [?]Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 04:15 PM by ThomWV
I was just looking at some headline at CNN and saw that Palin was being called a Beauty Queen. All I remember seeing about her in the context of beauty contests was that she claimed that one time she was Ms. Congeniality in some small time pageant and that another woman has risen up and said the story was horseshit because she actually won the award that year and had a trophy to show for it or some such nonsense.

Anyway I was wondering, just what Beauty Contest was this VP Nominee the "Queen" of? I don't mean some also-ran spot on the Glamor ticket, did she actually win one somewhere sometime?

OK, now she is really toast, this has legs.

NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

DUmmies. That little squirt gun would probably really piss-off a polar bear.

Now this is the oddest thing about Ms. Palin being a "Beauty Queen"
Advertisements [?]Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 05:51 PM by ThomWV
I asked the question a little while ago if Ms. Palin had ever actually won a beauty contest. The question was prompted by seeing her called a "Beauty Queen" on the CNN webpage. Someone responded that she had been Miss Wasilla in 1984 and had gone on to 2nd place in the Miss Alaska contest. So, I thought that was nice and so I went to Google and sure enough there were a bunch of references to the event. But the more I looked at the sources the more I realized that none of them was at all authoritative, they were all things like Wickopedia or echos from there. I could not find any pictures from the 1984 contest, any list of contestants, nothing. So, and this is what struck me as odd, I simply started looking to see who was Miss Wasilla in other years, 1983 (the year before Ms. Palin), 1985, 1986. Nothing. I could not find any hint that there had even been a contest in any other year. In fact the only reference I can find to there having been a Miss Wasilla contest in 1984 are ones saying Ms. Palin won and not a thing more about it. How odd. I could go back all the way to 1971 and find out who every Ms. Ratshole was but maybe the Miss Wasilla was a 1-year-only deal. Or maybe I just don't know enough about internet searching. Anyone knows better I'm prepared to be educated.

Yes DUmmie, it is extremely odd that a beauty contest held 25 years ago in a tiny town in Alaska is not properly documented with pictures, list of contestants and video photography on the internet.  Every event, no matter how big or small, that has happened to everyone, everywhere, for the last 1500 years is properly documented with independent witnesses on the internet.

19. I believe you have a picture of her in the Miss Alaska Pagent
I get the feeling she simply named hereself Miss Wasilla and went to Nome or wherever they held the big contest and said here I am, let me in. I can't find anything that says there ever actually was a Miss Wasilla contest, not in 1984 or in any other year. But of course lack of evidence is proof of nothing. I'm just wondering if there might be another way to find out if such a contest ever actually took place.

Now it is definitely a scandal with legs.

And, after someone inquires about Palin's maiden name this post:

No one calls him on it.  Guess racist remarks about Eskimo Indians is allowed now.
