And I think some need a wake up call.
This is how far behind we, the United States, are compared to the rest of the modern world.
And many of the talking points against student loans are rooted in conservative arguments & ideas.
Ask yourself this - by NOT forgiving student loans, how is that benefitting anyone but big banks?
"I suffered so you must suffer too!" is the antithesis of Progressive & Liberal ideology.

$5.2M in student loan debt.
And people wonder why there's such a massive shortage of healthcare workers in this country?

Uhm, this is the dude/ette, who claimed to have $165k in student loan debt in another thread and can't pay it back because it claims to be disabled.  And that bolded part above is bullshit.  This waste of skin isn't going to do ANY work.

So, if you break down the $5.2MM claim above by 30 (it's math and we all know DUmmies aren't good at mathing) that comes out to an average student loan debt of $173,333.00 each.  What the hell were they learning in school?  How to bilk the system?

No one twisted your arm to take out those loans.  Pay them back.  And AntivaxHunter ... you do realize there is no 'forgiveness' of these loans, right?  The bank is still going to be paid.  It's just that instead of YOU paying the bank, I will have to pay the bank, and I've never gone to college.

Comparing the US and any other country is consistently apples to oranges.  Sweden's size and population are a fraction of the United States.  We have cities that have almost as many people in them as the whole country of Sweden, and a country that is about 8x bigger.  Add into that the massive cultural, economic, and governmental differences, and what "works" in ANY other country in the world is unlikely to "work" here.  But the moonbats can't wrap their hive minds around that, just like they can't wrap those hive minds around the reality that money has to come from somewhere, especially "free government" money.

I hate being a recipient of this. This isn't some sort of humble brag either. I had gone through trucking school for 6k. The company sponsoring it was supposed to pay for it. I took a deal that was a huge mistake and was on the hook for the whole thing. Later, my wife went to nursing school and was doing it with scholarships (smarter than her husband) and rolled the 6k into a student loan. Fast forward to today and poof, it's gone. Not a huge amount but feel really terrible about this.

Oh, We're already embarrassed. And we know how good things could be, too. Some of us are old enough to remember cash and carry firearms. Some of us are even old enough to remember mail order automatic and high caliber weapons. And we're old enough to remember when colleges taught how to think instead of what to think. But MOST of us are derfinitely old enough to remember 1.50 a gallon gasoline, low taxes, decreased government regulation which led to a better economy, peace in the middle east and around the world.

It is precisely BECAUSE we're embarassed, that you and those like you and those who represent you and those like you, need to be relegated to the dust bin of history on top of the stack of historically bad ideas.

The previous average was $10,000 less than the new average, which is $10,000, making the old average $0, which is significantly lower than the current average. The sharp increase in average lifetime earnings of gender studies graduates has confounded experts, who say that while they expected gender studies graduates to make approximately $10,000 less than $10,000 over the course of their careers, they are now making $10,000 more than the expected number, which was $0.

"This is remarkable," said Dr. Lee Franken of Harvard. "All those gender studies students I taught -- I never thought I'd see the day when they'd make $10,000 over the average of $0. $10,000 is more than $0. So basically that's good."

Some college graduates with gender studies degrees are actually hitting up to $20,000 if they received Pell grants, doubling the most common average of $10,000, and being more than $20,000 over the previous average of $0.

Something similar happened to me. Not exactly the same, but yep, poof. The Tech School I went to went out of business. Mostly because they lied to the Fed. Gov. There was a lawsuit. That was that.

My remaining debt went poof. I didnt ask for it either. It just happened.
