i have an announcement.

sept 28 i make my comedy debut.
i have a dear friend w a monologue group called loose chicks. they've been off since the plague.
she told me a while back that when she gets back, she'll give me a spot.
i've been trying to convince her that loose chicks on the farm cant miss.
well, i finally sold her. we picked a date. now for the work.

i'm sure i have no idea how much work it will be, but i've done lots of events. i think i can hack it.
i plan to tell the story of the beginnings of my farm. i have a few newer neighbors that havent heard it. talked to 1 couple who are def interested.
the only hard part will be whittling it down to 10 min. i can tell that off the cuff, but not in 10 minutes.

so, sucking at something new once again. and it's only been a month since i sang in public for the 1st time. it usually takes me a decade.

we'll see about a stream, tho. i'll be sure everyone here knows about it rest assured.

So, you plan on cleaning up the chicken excrement? Or is that included in the ticket? Regardless, please, please DO include a link to the stream. Please.

i crack up every retail or service worker i come in contact w. or i dont let them go.

Kind of like the pResident beginning every waking day. No wonder they admire him.


Of course,  this reminds me of "Go Rosenbloom!", a short story told by none other than Neil Armstrong in a radio interview I happened to catch in the car one morning in the 90s. Tom Barnard was interviewing Neil Armstrong, and they were talking about him being the first man to walk on the moon...And Barnard  mentioned that the words he first spoke were very touching.

Armstrong replied "Those actually weren't the first words I spoke when I set foot on the moon".

Barnard replies "Really, what were your first words?"

Armstrong replied "Go Rosenbloom".

Barnard replies "Go Rosenbloom?"

Armstrong explained "When I was a kid, we lived in an aparement building. It was really cheap. Its walls were paper thin and you could hear neighbors talking, having discussions, fighting and other things. One of our neighbors were the Rosenblooms. I can remember many nights hearing Mrs. Rosenbloom saying very loudly 'men will walk on the moon before I put that thing in my mouth'."

I'm having trouble getting past the cringe level in order to laugh at it all.

I can't decide what's funnier.  Her pitiful attempt at growing a few fruits and vegetables.  Or the money she sunk in converting her vacant lot into a "farm".  Or the fact that her "garden" is about 75% weeds and garbage.  But I think her efforts to convert a junk SUV into a chicken coop probably wins out.  I have a funny feeling Mo can't tell the difference between people laughing with her and people laughing at her.

Im really hoping she and her fellow "loose chicks" do a Black Face skit on the Farm. That would be epic.
