Anyone else think it is about time for hearings on Christo-fascism and the future of the USA?

Seems to me to be a timely task to follow in the heels of the 1/6 hearings.

Any ideas?

I know the DUpipo all think that the First Amendment is all about keeping Christians (and Christians only) from expressing their religion, but there is a second part to the First Amendment, and "investigating" Christians would bump right up against that thing about Congress interfering with the FREE EXERCISE of religion.

Anyway, it doesn't surprise me that the Dupipo want Congress to go after religion, and I really believe that they ought to run on it in the midterms.

They have a very immature viewpoint that says when you step into the voting booth that you must leave God out of your choices.

Yet their secular humanist viewpoints must be the focal point of every voter.

And when decent and civilized people ignore them, they get pissed.

  Did S/He/It define this "Christo-fascism"? In a way that distinguishes how it differs from the variations of Christianity that have been constitutionally protected since the late 1780s? Or was "Christo-fascism" just an impotent imprecation?

I guess DUmmie Pantagruel is so ignorant that (s)he doesn't know that Francis Schaeffer, the person he/she hates, died nearly 40 years ago, while his son Franky turned against "Fundamentalist" Christianity long ago. He also turned politically liberal some 15 years ago, endorsing OhBummer! in 2008. My point isn't the dates of his change, except as they demonstrate the depth and breadth of the ignorance in DUmmie Pantagruel's hate.

I guess Star Moron Evolve Dammit is ignorant of the fact that laying on of hands dates back in Christianity to the First Century AD and is in the 1 Corinthians 12 list of spiritual gifts. IOW, Star Moron Evolve Dammit wants to attack a Christian practice clearly protected by the First Amendment's Free Exercise clause.

Why Star Moron Evolve Dammit fears Christian leaders praying with a President at his request (more of that scary Free Exercise!!!) eludes me, especially since OhBummer! and Carter probably also did this when they were President.

Sometimes I almost - almost - appreciate this kind of naked authoritarian impulse out in the open.

I have one idea though.

8. Did not say going after a Christianity or any religion.

My thought was for the USA to take a hard look at a minority political movement (Christo-fascism) that is gaming our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and body of laws to the degree that freedoms are removed at present and the nation (and Planet Earth) is at risk over the long term.

I am specifically not going after Christianity nor religion in general. Many Christians do not like Christo-fascism (like the many Christians that are Christians and vote Democratic). A majority of Americans are for separation of Church and State (as is our political system allegedly).

Think you misread me.

Agree it is a loaded topic. Do not agree that it is Authoritarian if done well. We could benefit from a national discussion about what separation of Church and State entails at present.

Whole lot of         , no specifics to differentiate between "Christo-fascism" and Evangelical and Catholic Christians who are DUmmie PufPuf23's targets for hate.

Translating "Gaming our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and body of laws" from DUmmie-speak this means winning court cases that the hated Evangelical and Catholic Christians "shouldn't" win (e.g. the recent Maine private school funding case) and getting laws passed that "shouldn't" be passed (e.g. RLUIPA). DUmmie PufPuf23 hates those uppity Evangelical and Catholic Christians who don't know and refuse to stay in "their place".

Bogeymanizing hated people/groups is Lib/Prog SOP. That's how, over several decades, "Fundamentalist" became an epithet rather than the term of respect it should be (I'm not a Fundamentalist, but respect their having stood steadfast for non-negotiables in the face of socio-religious fads; our points of disagreement are, by comparison, minor).

Kind of hard to keep it out of the courthouse since most laws in America were created based on Judeo-Christian beliefs found in the Bible and other religious documents. The whole concept of rights was put forth by the founding fathers where Christian beliefs were brought here from Europe because the rulers of Europe were denying these rights to the various protestant sects. Those people came here and codified those rights into law. American money states "In God We Trust" and that is whether you believe in a creator or not.  Schools in America started out for the sole purpose of giving an education so that, among other things, the Bible could be read and understood by common people. All the major universities to started out as Seminaries for the teaching of theology, philosophy, mathematics, and the other natural sciences.

If it weren't for Christianity, as far as western society is concerned, many of those things wouldn't exist or would have gotten started a lot later much to the detriment of modern society.

"They just didn't do it right" is a recurring meme in Progdumb. Kim I & II, Mao, Stalin, Hitler, Lenin, bunches of Muslim rulers, and multiple Roman Emperors tried to kill Christianity, and themselves died, while Christianity still continues in their countries/realms. The current Muslim thugs who have driven many Christians from their countries will eventually learn (if they live and endure long enough) that seeds have already been planted, and a new generation of Christians is already growing. But also like so many others, DU-grade Progs think they are smarter, and all those previous persecutors just didn't do it right.
