The claim is outlandish on the surface, but to believe it happened, and that we're just now hearing about it (even though there's video that supposedly shows it)? Come on.

Then again, common sense doesn't seem to apply when we're talking about DU.

I know this has slid off DUpipo's very mental radar screens, but it's worth a revisit and a little Math. So:

* Let's assume 5 frames instead of 4, to account for time just before and just after the first and last frame;

* Let's calculate how much time those 5 frames span, using frame rates of 20 and 30 frames per second, i.e. 50 milliseconds and 33.333 milliseconds to capture a frame plus the time to the next frame;

* Doing the Math, 5 frames would span .167-.250 seconds.

Very obviously whoever/whatever reached out for the steering wheel was not trying to grab and take control of it (not to mention the fact that the accelerator was on the driver's, not the passenger's side of the vehicle, and controlling steering wheel, accelerator, gear shift, and keys from the passenger's side against the driver's will just isn't possible. Whomp! Whomp! Whomp! Whomp!

So, what, if anything, did the film capture? Probably someone using the steering wheel to pull themselves into the vehicle.

A full-on Conspiracy Theorist has at least two core beliefs:

* Their theory is true, until disproved;

* Witnesses and evidence that disprove their theory are part of the conspiracy.

A corollary to the latter is that persons pointing out disproofs and contrary evidence must be dishonest and/or stupid.
