Justice is on trial.

As one of the three Branches of government, if it collapses, the other Branches collapse with it.

Without justice, there can be no legitimate government.

Our Justice System is supported by the ideals within our Constitution. If those that break the laws of our Constitution are not held accountable, then our government, as established by the Founders, no longer continues to exist.

George Washington warned us about "political Parties". I am almost certain he was thinking of "political Parties" as they exist today. The loyalties to political Parties supersede the loyalties to the nation.

Attorney General Merrick Garland and President Joe Biden sit on the threshold of history, in my opinion. It is the Executive Branch that is responsible for the execution and enforcement of the laws created by Congress.

Justice Kavanaugh was not vetted properly by his law school acquaintance Chris Wray. Can Chief Justice Roberts maintain the legitimacy of the court?

I am dismayed at the court's rulings on redistricting by allowing states to gerrymander. Several members of the court believe in the states' absolute right to run their elections without any efforts to safeguard fair elections.

To paraphrase Andrew Jackson, the court made their decision now let them enforce it.

So, the Dancing Supremes are dancing for their masters and giving corruption their seal of approval. But the Congress and executive branch can ignore their idiocy.

The only reason the Supremes are getting away with their corruption is because our legislative branch is broken. Congress is stagnant, mired in corrupt unconstitutional rules that prevent legislation. Congress could outlaw gerrymandering, pass laws to prevent gerrymandering, and there is nothing the Supremes could do. But we all know Congress is broken. This is why the court has oversized power. They can act anyway they want because Congress can't get its act together to pass laws to prevent Roberts from ruling and controlling the US.

The court has no legitimacy anymore, not since McConnell held up Obama's pick out of pique. (And Garland would have made a far better justice than an AG.)

So what is needed is an overhaul, although as you pointed out, Congress is currently useless. SCOTUS justices should have a set number of years to serve and then whoever is president at the time someone's term is up picks a new justice at the end of that term. No more lifetime terms. And while we're at it, expand the court to 15 justices so one or two don't have an outsize influence.

With consistent turnover based on years served, there is far less political "packing" involved. With the number of justices increased, decisions can be less political because there's more "cover" for someone to not toe the party line.

That's how the SCOTUS should be reformed.

12. You're right...

The founders (and ultimately the writers of the constitution) didn't account for the creation of Political Parties as we know them today. Therefore the checks and balances built into the constitution have no provision for extreme partisanship and create huge loopholes for partisans of one side to secure complete power over the instruments/institutions of government and totally leave out either the actual will of the people or the voices of the minority.

I would hate to convene a new Constitutional Convention because the Republicans would use that to eliminate any form of representative or republican (note SMALL "R" government but that seems to be the only way to correct these flaws.

How was he not vetted properly? First of all, he was vetted several times throughout his career. Secondly, the FBI interviewed hundreds of people in its investigation. I believe they also indicated they could only investigate so much, due to the fact that Ford didn't give them much to go on.

Something tells me "not vetted properly" means "we wanted an investigation that would drag on indefinitely, preventing Kavanaugh from being confirmed".

Or alternately, "we wanted the "investigation to continue until it came up with the conclusions we wanted it to come up with".

Sorry DUchebag, justice dies on the first day of preezy Shit Midas' first term.  Obama and Holder were behind the two tiered Department of JustUs. Democrats, federal bureaucrats, and blacks get away with murder, literally. Whereas conservatives, businesses, and white men will be persecuted for the smallest infraction of some obscure regulation.

See: Clinton treatment versus President Trump. A white cop versus a black career criminal. See BLM & ANTIFA burning, killing, looting riots versus a peaceful J6 protest (except for a black immigrant cop murdering a veteran white woman).

Most DUpipo believe that at best there should be 9 liberal judges seated in the SCOTUS or at best 5. All appeals court judges should be liberal. The majority of all state supreme court judges should be liberal. State and Circuit Court judges can be anything as long as they can be overturned by the above judges.

This is the liberal ideal of judicial balance

Yea. Like you said. Add DHS Mayorkas to your list and they are indeed historic in the sense that the answer to any direct question begins with
 "I don't have that data in front of me, but I'll get you that information". Well, that's Mayorkas and Garland. Biden can't string together a sentence that long.
