DU Upset that Trump Saved Taxpayers 660 Million Dollars

For those who don't remember, back in 2018 Trump threatened to cancel the Air Force 1 replacement program because of costs.  The Air Force and Boeing came to an agreement on a $3.9 billion fixed price contract (compared to Boeing's previous offer of around $4.4 billion on a cost-plus contract).  Now Boeing has reported cost overruns on the project to the tune of around $660 million (which would have passed directly to taxpayers on a cost-plus contract).  For the first time ever, DU is upset that a defense contractor might have to absorb a cost overrun.  They would be praising any other president for saving taxpayers so much money, but it's Trump so bring on the negative spin.

Well, I bet they can write off their taxes?

Trump gave them an easy way out to file their taxes with that massive tax cut he gave big businesses! 

Trump didn't invent the tax code related to business losses.  Apparently, this DUmmy would be happier if taxpayers paid for the whole overrun.

No exceptions universal rule. Boeing will survive with a flesh wound…but what a bunch of maroons.

ETTD = Everything Trump touches dies.  Trump saved taxpayers a bunch of money.  Not sure MontanaMama understands the concept.

Nope not PR, actual cost avoidance which is almost unheard of in this type of procurement.

This thread died fast because the more intelligent DUer's realize that saving 2/3 of a billion dollars is actually a good thing.

Trump is so stupid that he helped negotiate a huge cost savings.  What a horrible guy.

This thread died faster.  Apparently, DU is actually not a fan of defense spending cuts.  Based on their reaction to this news they seem really disappointed that we're not just writing a blank check to Boeing.
