Or don't you think it will have much of an effect one way or the other?

(I keep thinking about this and can't really decide if it will or won't. Guess we'll see though, huh?)

On the one hand, the information shown to the public gives it time to think about its voting. It's right at the time school ends and before families go on summer vacations. It doesn't distract from campaigning AND gives time for Democrats to campaign on the issues of what would happen at governmental levels to those Americans already under attack by the New Right.

It could have an affect in 2022, and solidify some Republicans thinking of becoming independents. It could continue the blue wave that began with the 2018 midterms.

On the other hand, sometimes people want some last minute drama to change minds right before the election.

It's a big country, and FOX isn't watched by any more than a couple of million. It's radio and lack of Internet that can keep people in the dark at this point.

As November approaches, the right's batshit demographic might be damped down by the hundreds of DOJ convictions and sentencing. Still I'm much more anxious for the country than ever.

You're right, though. We'll see.

 

Fox News Channel was the No. 1 basic cable network from January 17-23, marking 23 straight weeks of outdrawing CNN and MSNBC combined among total viewers.

Fox News averaged 1.5 million viewers while no other network passed the one-million-viewer benchmark. ESPN finished second with 699,000 followed by MSNBC’s 670,000. CNN averaged a dismal 474,000 to finish ninth, behind basic cable offerings such as Food Network and Investigation Discovery.

a week plus one day. Is that what all after all this build up? 8 days? Shouldn't this part be MUCH longer? I envisioned months of hearings.

That's one day per 100 testimonies. Fast talking I suppose. Quick slide shows. Very short violent clips etc etc.

Made the comparison that these witch hunt hearings are like the NFL draft. Only nerds and geeks who are obsessed with sliming President Trump and the Republican party are the same type of dorks who follow the draft.

Admittedly am a big sports fan but I find the NFL draft one giant circle jerk.  I'll look to see who my favorite team picked and the guys from my alma mater and home state.  The NFL is about my 5th favorite sport, behind baseball, golf, college basketball, and college football.

I bet the Jergens and Kleenex will be in short supply around the DUmp and leftist newsrooms for this big upcoming turd-burger.  Followed by Preparation H and Maalox in late June when nothing happens (as usual).

Probably the first time in decades that I didn't at least flip it to ESPN. Easier to check via the phone or computer rather than hear incessant blather.

Mel Kiper Jr. Will Not Be On-Site for NFL Draft Due to Vaccination Status

ESPN’s longtime NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. announced Monday that he would not be attending this year’s draft in person because he is not vaccinated against COVID-19. Instead, he will take part in the broadcast from his home studio.

“The NFL draft is the highlight of my year and I am looking forward to taking part in my 39th this month on ESPN,” he said in the statement. “For all three days, I will appear from my home studio in Maryland rather than onsite in Vegas as I am unvaccinated from COVID-19.

“I completely support everyone determining what’s best for their individual circumstances and recognize the value of vaccines,” he continued. “Simply put, my Covid vaccination decision is very specific to my own personal medical history.”

The primitives keep bringing up their hope that it will be like the Watergate hearings. It’s not even going to be close.

Watergate was the first time something like that had ever been televised. There were really only 3 networks and they all promoted and showed it. TV had a captive audience and it was the only game in town. Besides, it involved members of the president’s cabinet and inner circle actually carrying out the acts.

Today, there’s been numerous gov’t events that have happened over the years since 1974, so hearings are old hat. And now the big 3 networks don’t hold a monopoly anymore. I highly doubt any of them will televise it; they’ll leave it up to the cable networks and C-SPAN. And if you want to watch something else on TV, which most who are watching anything will, you’ve got hundreds of other channels from which to choose. Couple that with all the streaming services and people have things to keep them occupied other than some boring political junk.

Long story short, it just ain’t happening.
