If Elon Musk takes over Twitter will you delete your account? Or is it better to stay active so we know what Musk and his fellow oligarchs are up to?

I'm leaning towards deleting my account especially if he reinstates Trump.

They have a big media (FOX), but they need big social media. If they win Congress, they will go after Facebook, next. Also, it probably goes without saying here, but when the POTUS does what Trump does on social media, it's NOT ANTI-FREE SPEECH to ban him. They have standards, and he doesn't follow any rules but his own. What they don't like is that there is way too much free speech on social media, and they need control. If Elon makes Twitter like Facebook with an easy interface, etc., I'll be done with Facebook. It would be extremely financially-advantageous for him to do so. He's already talking about open-sourcing the code.

I was reading something the other day from some LWer that said the weakness of the modern leftist is their unwillingness to engage or even consider the viewpoints of others who disagree. They only want to consume info and engage with those who are likeminded. So given what this LWer said, it’s not surprising that they’re going bonkers over potentially having to share space on one of their exclusive platforms.

If Twitter wasn’t actually silencing conservatives voices FAR more than liberal voices, the question is; WHY is one side celebrating so exuberantly while the other side is screeching?

Well since Easter is past and Thanksgiving and Christmas are months away, maybe DU-folk could virtue-signal having deleted their Twitter accounts until the Thanksgiving-Christmas I Cut off my Type of Family Member Virtue-Signaling Season arrives. The DUmp's annual I-Hate-America 4th of July ritual and August 6th America-Dropped-the-Bomb-Because-America-Is-Racist festival just don't fill in the Easter-Thanksgiving gap in bad years like 2022 is looking to be.
