So why are you here?

DU is a Democratic-supporting website.

If your OPs/replies are aimed at discouraging the idea that anyone who undermined our democracy will ever be held accountable - why are you here?

Are you actively trying to discourage Democrats from voting because defeat is a given? Are you trying to convince Democrats that investigating Republican crimes is a worthless endeavour?

Again - why are you here?

Why do you keep repeating the they're all going to get away with it bullshit instead of insisting that they won't?

So the question remains: Why are you here?

1. I'm here to discuss politics...

I'm not here to encourage or discourage actions, because what happens in this environment has not impact on voting and political activity in the real world (where I'm extensively engaged with the Democratic Party).

To your first point: "discouraging an idea" has nothing to do with the reality of whether criminal justice is carried out. I believe that actions is being pursued, but whether others believe that or not has no impact on whether it will happen.

To your second point: I will discuss the realities of our political situation, and strategize on that basis for the best outcome, rather than live in a good news bubble that risks not taking appropriate action in the time remaining.

This is a perfect example, of lefty gatekeeping/cancel culture in action.

At a minimum. the goal is to protect the narrative and silence dissent. At a maximum, the goal is to do all that, and remove the voice from the group, and to stigmatize it.

It is a sobering thing, knowing that what you see demonstrated here, takes place in school boards, board rooms, and state and federal government.

Without being able to read the full thread, it appears as if Nan is hitting panic mode along with the others. They must make sure everyone stays in line; same words; same simple mindset; walk in lockstep; all positive. Any deviation will bring down the hammer.
