Suspect in South Carolina mall shooting on house arrest after judge sets $25,000 bond

The suspect in a South Carolina mall shooting in which nine people were wounded has been released under house arrest and ordered to wear an ankle monitor after a judge set a $25,000 surety bond.

The suspect, Jewayne Price, is also barred from contacting any of the victims, Columbia police said on Twitter.

Price will be allowed to travel from his home to work while he is under house arrest.

Neither Price nor his attorney could immediately be reached for comment.

Initially three people were suspected and detained, but two were released, officials said.

Well, I guess this is either privilege or the fact that the justice system is just terrible.

Let's see - black guy gets lowball bail and gets to sit at home after shooting a bunch of people. Sounds like progress, doesn't it? I mean, how is this guy even ALIVE? I thought white cops kill every black guy they see. Isn't this AMAZING progress that the DUmmies should hail? Well...

He's white

He just broke up with his cheerleader girlfriend

He woke up on the wrong side of the bed

He had a tooth-ache

The judge is his godfather

He's.......fill in the blanks

JFC, these judges need to be disbarred, fined, & locked up. ****

I will hazard a guess that exactly zero white dudes are named "Jewayne."

$25k is pretty steep for a gun possession charge for someone claiming self-defense. Seems the “stand your ground,” “good guy with a gun” crowd would be giving him the Kyle Rittenhouse treatment. Or, nah.

DU: "Why aren't there more gun laws? Why don't they enforce gun laws?" Also DU: "Man, that is so unfair and racist, fining someone for having a gun."

Uh, Rittenhouse was kept in jail with set at a huge amount ($2 million?), and his self-defense killings were caught on video.

Also, it had nothing to do with "stand your ground", so I'm not sure why you're bringing that up.
