tRump has actually admitted crimes right in front of us, and it was televised!!

He refuses to condemn putin. He actually is now claiming that he strengthened NATO. tRump seriously has blood on his hands, he is an Evil criminal that the media states is going to run in 2024. How do we stop this madness? We are frogs in a pot.

Many in here are still suggesting that it'll all be fine, that the DOJ has got this, I'm not so sure. Something nefarious is going on imo. It's almost like a scifi movie where peoples minds are unwillingly taken over.

3. Seriously. I always say this, but it's like the f**king Twilight Zone and it has been for years.

I feel like I am going mad most of the time. My most frequent thought is "How can so many other people not see this? How can so many other people not be horrified by what is happening in this country?"

It just gets worse and worse and we just manage to adjust to each incremental step toward fascism without missing a beat.

It really f**king scares me how we are just taking it, yet I don't know what to do, other than the usual sane things to support democracy, but they don't seem to be working. Not in the face of this kind of blatant disregard for law, order and decency.

They laugh in our faces and they have no fear of us. They will do as they please and they know that we are, so far, powerless to stop them.

10. I don't feel so confident about that idea.

I have a dear friend of many years, not a Democrat but not a Repug either. Intelligent, pays attention to current events, we discuss politics a lot and still he wonders if the R point of view isn't legit at times.

People have varying degrees of critical thinking skills and many don;t want to pay attention to politics, they want to just live their lives and not have to think about anything else. Folly as many of those world views may be, that's what I see in my environment. Even the pretty savvy will question their values when something that sounds viable arrives wearing a bow.

Fortunately we end up agreeing on most political views after discussing the facts of each issue. He gets his news and info from some other sources than I do so we compare notes on what is being presented and where.

6. Best way to fight trump is to beat him or his endorsees at polls.

Everything else depends on finding evidence to indict and a jury that will convict.

While it’s proof that trump is unfit for office, your examples probably aren’t a crime— kissing up to Putin, and wanting NATO to pay more than relying on us.

and I don't understand what the attraction is to such evil. The thing I always find surprising by this type of post is why you're attending to, listening to and then repeating and spreading the garbage coming out of this evil mentally disturbed man's mouth?

I get why he's doing it but why are you repeating it? Is this like being attracted to the thing you hate?

The only thing I care about is doing everything I can do to save our democracy. Repeating and spreading lies in an election year is not helpful.

I've been saying for years that, if DU is any indication, the largest audience segment for RW people and RW media is DU members!

Every utterance someone hears from a RW politician, hate RW radio/tv host, etc., gets re-posted here, often in its entirety. People should just change the channel or turn the damn thing off! Its sole purpose is to stoke outrage in whatever way it can. I call it the "outrage industry" or "outrage porn." It seems to be the hottest ticket in town because people just can't stop watching/listening and become outraged. Take a break and watch cat videos instead! Your life will be happier!

What's happening is traditional fascist and oligarchical tactics on steroids. That is, efforts to saturate the global public's minds with lies, bullshit, deception and fake conspiracy to the point where most don't know what to believe.

Not at all new in human history although still a bit alien to America, so we're prone to be naive and gullible.

About all we can do is keep ourselves informed, support Democratic campaigns and democratic organizations such as ACLU, but most importantly GOTV and VOTE.

Hmm, 93 million. Did we conjure up some extras in there somewhere?  :whatever:

Anyway yes, there is a reason you won't be able to pull that off again. The biggest reason Biden got 81 million votes was because people were propagandized into doing voting for him, and the obvious suppression of the laptop story. That's not going to work again.
