I wandered into this by accident.

Unfortunately, the set-up is like Fat Che's hangout, Big Jerry's salon, no good for copying-and-pasting so as to bring excerpts over here.

The thread's miles and miles long, and very interesting.

It looks to me like Barry "Six States" Obama, the Obamaites, and the Obamaite primitives, amputated a substantial part of the regular Democrat base, and instead of using the next eight weeks to woo and win over undecideds and independents, they're going to have to use all this time to rebuild the base they've let erode.

I kind of expected that. Of course when McCain/Palin wins, it will be all Hillary's fault according to the Oooobama worshippers. Just watch.

I joined that board on Friday right after the announcement. I have been doing my part to encourage them in their quest to help out the McCain/Palin campaign! They are donating money to him, making calls complaining about the treatment of Sarah.....this is so much fun.  :hyper:

They liked Linda Lingle even more.  McCain could have scored more points with them with her.  Jewish Lesbian female.  A trifecta.

But they really enjoyed the show.

I've managed to get through about 13-14 pages while trying to work....OMG!!!!

If that forum is in any way representative of Hillary's "people"....Obama needs to hit the panic button.

He's lost them...particularly the women.

I must say the Obama campaign has Palin covered everywhere. I turned on Nightline to get away from 'the speech' only to hear the comment that 'she' addressed an audience that was almost twice as large as the town she was mayor of. Sheesh.

Then Brian Ross handled the hit job. Phone interview with the Safety Officer of Troopergate. It's laughable when you think about some of the serious things that Obama has done, yet not one of these so called reporters has ever said a negative word about him.

I have zero respect for anyone in the news media! There is not one single honest journalist anywhere, I'm sure.

 I don't think they like Obama...

She confronted critics and defended what she has done and compared it to the lack of a resume' that has yet to be acknowledged. And all the while, she did so with grace and that of a lady.

Pundits will shread her for what she did tonight in her speech. And what she did was show that she is a strong woman that will not take prisoners. She will not back down. And she will fight with everything she has. Something I like about her is that while she is NOT Hillary Clinton, she possesses a lot of the characteristics that Hillary Clinton does. Issues are the areas that are different.

One other thing I really enjoyed was the fact that she laid out a little bit of a platform tonight when introducing Trig. I think that was a very wise move on her part. She's already letting the people know that while she intends to be a great Vice President, she's also focused on doing something more to give back.

Again, she nailed this speech. It was the perfect speech she could have given and I'm sure Americans will really have some strong reactions to it. I think she'll pull some moderates over and I can see a bump coming from this for McCain. I look forward to her debate with Biden. She's going to do just fine!!!!

I'm starting to see some similarities between the worthier Democrat candidate of 2008, and Nelson Rockefeller of 1964.

Rockefeller in 1964 was beaten by Barry Goldwater for the Republican presidential nomination, after a hard-fought battle.  He endorsed Goldwater for the presidency, but without enthusiasm.  Notably without enthusiasm.

Sound similar?

Rockefeller then turned his eyes on the 1968 Republican presidential nomination, but was checkmated by Richard Nixon.  In one of the weirdest configurations of political ideology, the left-wing Rockefeller united with the conservative Ronald Reagan to get something going against Nixon, but it didn't come off.

Sarah Palin could provide more motivation for Hillary to help Obama get elected, and then work from the senate to undermine him, so she can run in 2012.  If McCain wins, and decides 1 term is enough, then Clinton v. Palin?  I think that is a no brainer.

I don't think undermining him once he was elected would work, though.  A party is never going to cut their incumbent Prez loose unless he admits re-election is impossible himself, and even the one recent-lifetime example of that (LBJ) turned out pretty badly for the successor because the fortunes of the party follow their President.  Therefore I do not see her struggling really hard to put Obama in office, I see Hillary betting on McCain to live through the first term and running for his second versus Hillary.  That leaves her the possibility of picking up a charismatic running mate at that time (though how she'd keep her ego in check enough to pick someone potentially more popular than herself is hard to see).

I dont think so - I suspect Hillary's support will be about as empty-suited as Obama is himself. Consider this.

Hillary wanted her shot, and its obvious to all of us that the opportunity was Baracked away from her. She is 60 years old.

If Obama wins, she needs to hope for an unnatural disaster to have any shot at Presidency because if Obama is successful, he will be the nominee in 4 more years as well, If he fails the odds are Democrats in general will fail as well. thats 8 years. If Obama is successful for 8 years, she will need to hope that Biden elects to not run - if he does, he will probably get the nomination. 12 years. Worst case scenario is 16 years, making her 76 years old.

an Obama loss almost guarantees Hillary the Democratic nomination in 4 years, and most likely she will be facing off against Palin - an interesting match indeed.

I think the issue of Palin taking over for McCain in 2012 is pretty much rolling.

During his speech Giuliani said when it came time to make VP choices Obama looked backwards while McCain looked forward. The implication is obvious: Palin has a political calling beyond the tenure of McCain who is about to go as far as he will ever go.
